My phone binged. I looked down at the screen and allowed myself a small eye roll.
One word. So???
Obviously, Naomi hadn’t been so busy working in her studio that she didn’t have the chance to peek out her front window and see me standing in the new neighbor’s front yard, having some sort of conversation.
Nothing to tell, I responded. Rufus got out and went over to the new guy’s yard. His name is Benjamin Blake.
You were talking for a couple of minutes, she sent back. How’d it go?
It didn’t go anywhere. Actually, he’s kind of a jerk. Not friendly at all.
