Shattered Illusions

Sasha's mind reeled as she processed her mother's words. "You're not biologically mine." The phrase echoed in her head, refusing to sink in. She felt like she was floating above her body, watching herself unravel.

Rachel's voice seemed distant, but Sasha caught snippets of her explanation. "...Adoption...kept secret...for your own good..."
