Ulcliffe's words pulled me back out of the worst grief I had ever felt. I knew what I had done. I knew exactly what I deserved for it.
I exhaled a jagged breath. "I'll go with you. But let's be clear—since Mia survived, the Council has no legal standing to detain me. Move quickly through whatever formalities you need, Ulcliffe. Don't waste my time. I have a wife and daughter to win back."
