Elara's POV
"Orion! What a coincidence."
It didn't sound like a coincidence. It sounded rehearsed.
I turned.
She was coming down the path from the main building in a white resort robe, Margaret at her side. Behind them came Celeste, carrying Lily. Both were already in their swimsuits, and they moved like they'd been here a while and knew the place.
Orion's expression had gone very still.
"What are you doing here?" he said. It was not a question.
"We were invited," Veronica said, and had the grace to look slightly uncomfortable. "Mom wanted to take some time away, and I mentioned you'd recommended this place—"
"I mentioned it to you last night," Orion said. His voice was flat. "I told you I was bringing Elara and Mia here. That's the only time I ever brought this resort up."
