Episode 9: “Decision Making”

“Why are you staring at me? Is there any thing in my face?” she asked, “Hanna? I would like to ask you something.” I ask her with a sad tone. “Sure, why are you so serious?” she said, “What will you do if your friend betrays you?” I said, Hanna frowned because of my question, she’s uncomfortable while saying this word. “Ahmm, why does your question is so serious? Okay, I’ll answer that. I think, I’ll forget all the things and friendship that we have, because I trust her/him so much and this is how she pay all the kindness that I’ve gave.” Hanna said. “Yes, that’s what I should do. Thank you for giving me option. After I say those things, I go to my room and I reply to Miguel’s message, “I’m ready to meet you at the meeting place, I want to know the truth. Just make sure you’ll tell the truth.” And I send it. A few minutes pass by, he replied “Yes, I’m telling the truth. Meet me tomorrow at the wishing well, that is the only place where we can hide and it is a safe place, they can’t track me there. I’ll wait for you at12 noon.” And send back “Okay.” And I almost drop my tear when Miguel send a picture of me and saying “Don’t cry please? I promise to you that I’ll make things right. Just trust me for now.” And I make myself calm down and I sighed. I lay myself down and I don’t notice that I got a sleep.

It was :30 in the morning, I heard Hanna calling out for me to have breakfast and I go down the stairs. I saw Hanna smiling at me and I whispered, “How can she pretend to smile?” I sighed and sat down in front of her. “So, Ana. Where do you want to go next?” she asked and I response, “I don’t want to go for a walk today. I just want to take a rest.”

“Why? Do you have a sick?” she said, “No, I just want to take a rest.” And she just agreed. After we have our breakfast, I go back to my room and preparing myself to meet him. I close the window curtain for not see anything of my preparation. I try to hide my pocket knife inside my shoes if it is not obvious and it’s fine. Everything is ready. I was so calm it seems like nothing happened, and the time come.

I was walking the hall way when Hanna appeared, “Where are you going? I thought you don’t want to go outside? And it’s too hot outside.” She asked. “Just take a walk, fresh air you know.” I say, “Wait, I want to go with you.” she put her things down when I said “No, it’s okay. I want to be alone for now. Please?” I saw her face turn in to sadness and she agreed. I walk out the door and walk towards the woods. I look over my surroundings if Hanna is following me, but I don’t see anyone following me.

Then I arrive at the wishing well, I looked around but t I don’t see Miguel anywhere. Suddenly I heard a voice calling out my name. “Ana! Ana! over here!” in a small voice. I saw him hiding behind the trees, and I walk toward him. He pulled me in and he sat me down behind the bush. “Don’t speak too, loud. okay? I don’t anyone hears us.” And I agreed. “I’ll explain everything after you hear the audio record. I think you already memorize your friend’s voice, is it right?” he said. “Yes, I don’t want to waste any more time just let me hear it.” He agreed and I put his earphone’s in my ear and I listen carefully, and the audio record says. “I will pay you if you do this job for me. I want you to make this girl suffer from fear. I don’t know how you will do it, just do anything to make her suffer. I don’t want her to be happy anymore.” The girl says, “But why ma’am? And I don’t want to do this. Find another person that will do this kind of job.” Miguel said, “Do it or i will make your family suffer. I heard that your Dad’s company is suffering from bankrupt, and your Dad borrowed money from my Mom. If you do this job, I will be the one to pay all your family’s dept from us.” She said, “But why? I thought Ana is your friend?” Miguel asked. “She’s not my friend! She nothing but a boyfriend snatcher! She stole my Boyfriend Jordan.” And the girl cried. When I heard the name Jordan, I confirmed that the girl spoken in the audio record is Hanna.
