Jack
Amelia Anderson had just saved my plan for destroying her family. If she had not stopped me in that moment, who knows what Anne could have heard. Who knows who she would have even reported that information to. One thing was absolutely sure is she is working for someone to try to get information on me and my plans. Likely that was why she had tried to seduce me last night. Good thing my c**k hadn't gotten hard, God knows what kind of havoc she may have wreaked if I had brought her back to my room. Thinking with my c**k again. I thought, cursing myself.
I stood in the clearing stairing at where the girl had just been trying to hide herself amoungst the trees. Even with how exposed and careless she had been there's a chance I may not have even noticed her. She had not made it very far down the hill and I seriously doubt she had been able to make out a single word from that distance. Amelia however.... What did she hear?
I took a deep breath trying to calm my nerves. Everything I had ever worked for was riding on this. If I'm honest with myself it was the thing I had been living for since Dana died. A company where I was primary shareholder, an empire to leave behind for my future children so they would never know what it was like to live under the heel of another man. I had become so obsessed I had helped ruin two of my marriages. I had spent the better part of a decade inside an office building. More time than I'd ever care to admit. Blood, sweat, and tears. All of it sacrificed for a single purpose.
I gave myself a few more moments to recover from the adrenaline rush before walking back out of the clearing. As I approached I saw the groups were all busy preparing for the zip line. Several official looking people in blue uniforms handed out harnesses. Slowly they were making their way through the groups making sure to inspect every person's harness. I began looking around to see where I could find one.
"Hey, I grabbed one for you." Amelia said emerging from the crowd.
"Thank you." I replied reaching out to take it from her.
"Does this look right to you?" She asked pulling on her harness to make sure it's tight. I could see she had accidentally connected one of the straps improperly.
"May I?" I asked.
"Please," She replied. I kneeled down infront of her and began pulling the strap back out to reconnect it. Kneeling infront of her were we nearly at eye level, at least closer than when I was standing. The harness is a safety precaution and therefore skin tight. My fingers brushed her inner thigh as I began to fix her mistake. I felt a shiver go through her. Now is as good as time as any, I thought.
I opened my mouth to speak when she stopped me.
"Whatever bussiness you have with my father. It's just that. Bussiness between the two of you. I want nothing to do with it." she told me. I was stunning into silence working diligently to fix her straps. I traced my fingers over each one making sure they were tightened properly. But, I wasn't talking about your father. I had been talking about you. I thought to myself, so she must not have heard much.
It had been a call from Andrew, he had one of his underground buddies do a little bit more of a thorough look into what had happened between Amelia and her family.
"So I wanted to take a look at her phone records to see if maybe I could come to any conclusions from it. You'll never believe what my guy found." Andrew told me. I could hear the excitement in his voice, for some reason it turned to dread when it entered my ears. It feels wrong digging into her life when she's right here, if she wanted to tell me I could just ask.
"So the last known number she had before she left her patents home, I was able to track down the records because the phone was actually in Thomas's name." he began to explain.
"Skip to the information that was so urgent you had to call me while I'm trying to work on her." I growled.
"Okay, okay, okay. Don't get your panties in a twist." I could him shuffling papers on the other line.
"At one AM exactly on the night of December the twentieth-I believe it was- there was an out going call." Andrew paused for dramatic effect. "To the NYPD."
"That the same night she left her parents house?" I asked.
"Well, according to the shelter she didn't check I until the next morning. But, one things for sure that call had to have been about whatever happened that night." he told me.
"What about the police report?" I asked. If she had called to report a crime there would be a record of it somewhere. My heart started racing. Cold hard proof?
"Nah man, unfortunately not. I was able to ask around the precinct no one even knows who took that call. There was no report filed and from what I can tell she did speak with an officer. The call ran for over an hour." he informed me. I felt my spirit deflate a little bit.
"So, your telling me Amelia Anderson attempted to file a report and the police never did anything about it?" I asked.
"I'm telling you I think we just found, a first class, grade A, cover up." he had said right before Amelia had tapped me on the shoulder.
Now we stood in line waiting our turn to be checked by the attendants. Her friend Lizzie was a few feet ahead of us in line and from where we stood we could see her being prepared to go down the zipline. They had already put her helmet on and it looked like they were just giving her instructions before sending her down. She turned back looking as if she were searching the crowd.
"GO! Show that b***h she was wrong for holding you back!" Amelia yelled when she noticed her friend looking for her. Half the groups infront of us turned to look at her as she yelled the word 'b***h'. She leaned forward and whispered to them, "Can I f*****g help you?" It made me smile. She was so wild and carefree, I loved the look of shock she left on people's faces.
"I think you need some help." Cheyenne replied emerging from the group. Majority of them I recognized from the bridal party. Amelia's smile seemed to go unnaturally long giving her a strange comical look. She didn't even reply just blinked at the other woman. She didn't say a word just kept stairing into the poor woman's soul until she became so uncomfortable the entire group walked away.
"You're a f*****g weirdo." Cheyene hissed as she marched away stomping her feet. I gave her a look of bemusement that I hoped conveyed my thoughts, What the hell was that?
"What?" Amelia laughed.
"Is that how you address the rumors against you?" I laughed a hearty genuine laugh that filled the small space and echoed off the rocks as we neared the edge of the cliff we would be ziplinging off.
"Oh please," She sighed heavily. "I don't give a s**t what anyone here thinks of me. I've heard all the rumors. I went crazy, I'm on drugs, I've given birth to a secret love child. There are even crazier theories like the one where I actually switched bodies with another person. If I spent my whole life tiptoeing around their crazy bullshit I'd never be able to actually enjoy myself."
We were getting closer to the front now. We had already watched as a few groups ahead of us, including a green looking Lizzie, zip down the lush green mountainside.
"I think your the most fascinating woman I have ever met." I whispered. We were so close to the pther groups now closer to the ledge so I had to whisper if I didn't want other to listen in. I leaned in close from behind looking over her shoulder looking down I could see the beautiful curve of her neck leading down naturally to the creamy white tops of her breasts.
"You may be the most attractive man I've ever met in my life..." She turned to look at me in the small space speaking at about half volume. "But, don't get your hopes up."
She reached up and touched my chest a sexy dark look in her blue eyes. It stole the wind out of my chest.
"I simply have no interest in marriage right now." She gave me a sexy sultry smile before stepping up onto the platform. I saw what she did there, used my own words against me. I laughed out loud.
"Good, I'm glad we are on the same page." I replied, because of the wind up on the ledge I had to yell to be heard. She flashed me her wicked sexy grin wiggling her eyebrows at me before jumping off the ledge and into the wide open air. As she flew I heard her yelling as she flew down the side of the mountain, "WooHoooo!"
