Winter's POV Watching Tristan in my home was quite amusing. My parents had a weird taste for past times and for us to learn things we don't need to learn like archery and sword fighting. The only person that knows this about my family is Evan. As we finally make it to the study room; we all sit down to start our homework, although I have to encourage Tristan to sit down with us. Normally it's just me and Evan so we go to my room, but I don't have enough room there for all three of us to sit comfortably and I'm a little nervous for Tristan to see my room. The only person I've ever let into my room aside from my mom and dad is Evan. He's also the only person that knows about the necklace and the letter I got when I was little. I keep the letter framed in my room on a shelf now. "Hey, you ok?" I get a mind nudge from Evan. "Yea, I just have a weird feeling right now. Not sure if it's good or bad yet." I say back keeping my eyes in my mathematics book so Tristan doesn't suspect anything. I look to Tristan to see if he's struggling and his pencil is flying across the page. Before he realizes I'm watching I look at what he's doing and notice he's drawing, but then see he's drawing me, opening the envelope with the necklace and letter when I was younger. I look at his face and his eyes are a darker shade than they normally are and they're glowing! Once he's done he looks up at me and sees my face. I know the look I have is of complete shock and confusion. Slowly he reaches out and grabs my hand and instantly I'm taken back to when he was a kid, waking up and running to tell his family and going to buy the necklace, then writing the note and my address on the envelope. I stand up pulling my hand from his grasp and run. I run down the stairs, out the back door, and into the woods. I can feel Evan trying to mind nudge me, but I ignore it. I keep running, my mind racing. I can't go to the trail, I can't explain to Evan what happened. He wouldn't understand. So I cut through the trees, branches slapping my arms and legs, tearing at my clothes. I don't slow down, tripping over a fallen tree, I get up and keep going. I run till I see a clearing. The pond only my mom and I know about. The bench we built after finding it still standing. Only when I see the carvings on the bench do I slow down. When my quirks first started I found this place. Shortly after my mom found me here. We made this our secret spot, not even dad knows it's here. I sit down on the bench to catch my breath. Inhale, count to three. Exhale, count to five. My thoughts still racing. But one question keeps surfacing. Why does he show up after all this time?
