Chapter 5 -New Years Ball Part II

Alpha Derrick keeps the frown hidden from the public. Garrett is a pro at technical aspects of the pack and their multi-billion company takes his phone out. His phone is hooked up to another system at the same time. The program in the system in the R&D facility is already sorting out the submissions, checking the answers with the data of the entire pack, and at the same time cross-checking the rogue's similarity of answers. In the announcement, he did mention the rogues included in the past year. But his hunch is telling him to check the entire data of the rogues since the pack started flourishing. Hidden from all eyes, he had fit in a virus to retrieve all the data from various phones that is clicking the submit button or the rules hyperlink. This new data is stored in one of his personal servers. He is one of those tech-savvy who are not fans of cloud storage. He would rather store it in his server cloud, the one he also runs in the human world. Yet, none of the pack details are saved even there.

As the dinner was gradually over, the pack went back to their residence. Alpha Derrick mind links with Garrett, Harry, and Fredrick.

Derrick - Dude! What the hell! Why am I not being informed about anything?

Fred - You were. Didnt you give a go ahead on the rouge database search.

Derr - How many times have I told you not to call that rough database, its the new entry list.

Fred - Hypocrite! whatever. Even you know as well as I.

Garr - Guys, while I love to hear you lovebirds bicker. I have another thing to admit.

Derr - What now?

Garr - Hahaha, I umm.. I did something else too.

Fred - What did you do now?

Garr - Well, its not much. It will help in the wrong run too. It was a long term planning trump card. I saw the time and played it.

Derr - What the hell! Will you just get on wih it already.

Harry - He put a virus in the phones of all submission to retrieve their data.

Derr and Fred - He did what?

Garr - Thanks Harr! Good timing. Well I just saw an opportunity to get in and I did. It will help us in the future.

Fred - Gee man! We should leash you to those wires.

Derr - How many times I have told you not to invade people's privacy.

Harr - Yeah, well, a fish might be in the loop already. I would say it is a stupid fish. I will have Aspen stick to him and take his place eventually.

Derr - No fish is small. Today they are small, tomorrow they are bloody whales.

Fred - Told ya, this dawg is a hypocrite.

Derr - Fine. But when are we announcing the test?

Fred - If you are awake at midnight hunny.

Derr - It's you who is busy at night. I can hear you cry all the way up here.

Fred - Does that mean you cry in pain too? Hypocrrriiitee

Garr - On a serious note, the test has already begun.

All three say, "We know!" Then Derrick shuts the link while flopping on the bed.

Luna Selena quirks an eyebrow, "Were you guys just cribbing about pain again?"

Derrick mummbles, "That arse hat can't keep his mouth shut."

Selena giggles, "Come here, sweet cheeks, lets go to sleep for a few hours."

Derrick frowns, "Only sweet for you, poison for others."

Selena pulls Derrick closer. Derrick doesn't wait a moment and brings his lips closer to to hers to give a growling passionate kiss. She melts in his embrace instantly. Their limbs intertwined as they lay down with each other. Soon Derrick is snoring and Selena smiles and shuts her eyes into deep slumber.

In the dreams, Selena sees her wolf paws, a spotted black and white fur. Her wolf is standing in the white fog to find a mirror. Her wolf has a spot on its forehead that shines as soon as it meets its reflection. A mark of a white moon is patched on the furs on the forehead. And the wolf in the reflection turns into white. Its furs sparkle a silver hue as light falls on it. Then the reflection backs away from the mirror as if the mirror is a portal. Seeing this, Selena's wolf takes a step forward inside the mirror, realizing it is a portal. She runs through the floral wilderness behind that mysterious white wolf till they reach Silver Moon Lake. A lady in a white flowing shimmering gown sits by the rocks. Her feet half submerged in the waters, turns and smiles towards her. The white wolf nudges the woman.

When the woman speaks, its as if the bells chime to the ears, and gentle music follows, "Dear one, protect your gift."

Selena opens her eyes abruptly. Her husband stirs in his sleep, opens his eyes as well."What's wrong?" , he says.

"I saw a dream," she pauses, "I think it was Selene, our Goddess herself."

"What did she say?" he asks with anxiousness

"She just said that dear one, protect your gift."

"What's that gift?"

"I have no idea, but..."

She goes on to narrate the dream.

"Let's talk about it in the morning with the others." he finally says as he holds her close and puts her to sleep.

Derrick mindlinks Fredrick, "If you are awake, Selena got another vision."

Fredrick replies via link, "Let us meet first thing in the morning."

The link drops. Fred's knotted brows say it all to Selene. She grabs him with her thighs over his waist as she kisses him and Fred keeps pushing his body in a rhythmic flow inside her groaning loudly.
