Chapter 11

KHIONE CYRA I was washing my face when my phone chimed. I dried my face and my hands before checking my phone. It was an unknown number, but when I read the message, I immediately knew that it was Raidon. We were texting for a while now. He was asking me my favorite things like books, food, color, and I asked the same questions not because I'm curious and I wanted to know more about him, but because I can't hold an actual conversation. Me: I'm pretty sure you're out of questions at this point. Raidon: Nah. I was about to ask you if you want to got out sometime. ^_^ I giggled at the emoticon. He's starting to copy me. Me: I'll have to think about it. I didn't wait for him to reply and proceeded to do my skincare. I ignored the chime of my phone but then, it started ringing. I turned my head to my phone and saw Raidon was calling. What the actual f**k? Unconsciously, I hit the answer button and I softly cursed under my breath. I sighed softly and placed the call in loudspeaker. "Hey, Khi! Whatcha doing?!" He has too much energy that I couldn't keep up with. I groaned softly. "I'm doing my nightly skincare routine, Raidon. Which means I'm kind of busy at the moment." I said, hinting that the call was a bad idea, but this man is either stupid or he's dense. "Oh? Really? I want to see what you're doing." I faked a laugh and said, "No. Why would I show you what the hell I'm doing with my face?" "Why not?" I scoffed, "First off, we're barely friends. Second, we just met like... a few days ago so technically, you're an acquaintance." There was silence and I was starting to think that maybe I offended him, but I did not really care because what I said was true. "Ouch, Khi. That hurts. I was starting to think that we might have potential to be friends." I stifled a laugh and applied some pimple erasing cream on my face. I grabbed my phone and headed back to the bedroom. I sat on the couch and huffed a breath. "Don't get me wrong, Raidon. We do have potential to be friends, but..." I paused, "Maybe if we get to know each other for a few more weeks, we can level up as friends." "So now we're like video games, huh? Leveling up and s**t?" I chuckled and nodded, even though I know he couldn't see me, "Yes. Just like video games." "Alright then. I think I must be on my A game, huh?" "I will just wish you luck, dude." I said so casually that I didn't notice that I called him 'dude'. "Dude?! Damn. I WILL be on my A game, Khi. I'll make sure of that!" I laughed and he laughed along. Our conversation continued and he asked about where I came from and how I'm holding up so far. Suddenly, he asked a random question. "Do you like doughnuts?" "Are you kidding me? I love doughnuts." I grabbed my brush and began brushing my hair whilst still talking to Raidon. "Really? I love doughnuts, too! Like... Krispy Kreme? Ugh. I love their glazed doughnuts." "Yeah. I love those, too. Also, their Christmas themed ones? The snowflake one? I love those!" I gushed, placing the brush back on the table after brushing my hair. "Really? I haven't tried those." "You should. They're crazy good, but I think they'll be too sweet for your taste." "It's cool. I can eat something sweet once in a while." "You sure? I mean, you're like... the gym bro kind of guy who always watches what he eats and counts his calories." I said and he laughed out loud. The hell?! Wait. Did I actually say that? It's kind of embarrassing. "Is that what you thought about me? Wait. That wasn't your first impression on me, right?" "No. Of course not. My first impression on you was that you're a player and... a cheerful guy." I admitted. "The cheerful bit was cool, but the player one? That's kind of rude, don't you think?" I scoffed, "Yeah. Keep lying to yourself." I smiled as our conversation continued until I decided to go to bed. He bid me goodnight and I did the same. Once I placed my phone down, Reika looked at me. "That was a quick change. One moment you were sulking about Jase, then now, you're talking to another man? You're amazing." Reika teased and I threw a pillow at her. "He's a customer from the coffee shop I work at and he's just a... friendly kind of person, I guess." I got up and finally finished my skincare. I can't believe I forgot to wipe the cream off my face. "Yeah. That's what you said with Jase before." She yelled out and I huffed. "I'm not about to fall for that trap again, girl. I'm a changed woman and I want to love myself first." I said, applying moisturizer on my face. Am I too extra? Nope. I just love doing my skincare. After that, I turned off the lights of the bathroom and plopped on the bed beside Reika. Tomorrow's another day. I'll see Raidon and... I don't know what face I'm going to make when I see him. °°°°°°°°°° I watched as Sandra practically threw herself at Raidon the moment he entered. I'm still surprised she still had the willpower to stop herself from actually hugging him. Michie hissed as if she was in pain. "Actually, I feel bad for the man. He's being harassed by women who are just a little... overkill." She said, shaking her head as she pressed the buttons of the microwave. "They're probably just really affectionate towards Raidon." I said, practicing my first latte art, courtesy of Michie teaching me. "You're blind if you call that affectionate. That's just crazy." She huffed and pointed out my mistake. I clicked my tongue and made my 3rd cup of latte. Just then, Raidon and Sandra approached the counter. "I'll make your coffee. Just a second." Sandra said and left to make his usual coffee. Raidon sighed and handed Michie two cards. Michie's eyes widened and she raised an eyebrow at Raidon. "I only asked for one." "Yeah. Well, I accidentally bought two so just accept it." Raidon waved his hand, dismissing her and Michie just squealed and thanked him. I raised an eyebrow, "What was that about?" "Just something she requested. Anyway, I'm off to work and I just need my coffee." He said nonchalantly and watched Sandra. I looked at Sandra as well and noticed that she's taking extra effort in doing his coffee. She must be really in love with Raidon. After a few minutes, Sandra came and handed Raidon his coffee. I watched how Sandra kept asking Raidon how his coffee was and in return, he just casually replies that it's good as always. I looked down at my art and happily showed it to Michie. She smiled and praised me. As for the reject coffee cups that I made, Raidon surprised me when he took the cups and said that he'll pay for it. He did pay for it and finished both cups. I blinked at him and he whispered, "It was cute. You know? Your art." "You didn't have to pay for those rejects." I whispered back then I asked, "Wait. Why are we whispering again?" "I don't want Sandra to hear that I think your latte art is cute. She'll get jealous and just... take the day off." He whispered again and I giggled. "Oh. Ok." After that, he left and I continued on with my work. I sighed as I thought of Raidon and how he just paid for my failed attempt on latte arts. I was wiping come cups when Michie grabbed me at the back of my shirt and pulled me aside. "Raidon just posted your failed art, girl." She whispered. I looked at her phone and noticed that Raidon hid the post from the public and just posted it on his close friends in i********:. The post was a picture of two of my failed arts with the caption 'Ain't they just the cutest? It tastes good, too. :>' written at the bottom right of the picture. I blinked and blushed furiously. My mind was blank and I knew I was not supposed to assume things, but I couldn't help it. What the f**k is that guy thinking?!
