Victoria Harry stepped into Chase and Olivia modest apartment. Her heels clicking exquisitely on the tiled floor. Natalie stood behind her, her humor held with pride as always. ''Get all her things out of here.'' Victoria commanded as her men obeyed. She walked into the living room, and found one of their pictures on the table. She walked forward and picked it, her brow arose in disgust. ''She is finally out of our lives'' She said as she threw the frame away, the glass scattering on the tiled floor. Natalie stood behind her, a dirty smirk playing on her face, as she watched them get Olivia's stuffs out of the house. ''Mum, do you think Chase would want me back'' She asked giving her usual deceptive look. ''Of course darling, he has too. He has no choice. That Olivia is just a pawn and now that we have gotten what we want from the her family, there is nothing left for her here. She will go back to her old quaint family house'' She said angrily, giving Natalie an assuring smirk. '' You have always been my choice, darling. And I will make sure you get married to my son at all cost'' She said determined, before facing the men who carried all Olivia's stuffs out of the house. Natalie had been Chase's girlfriend, before Olivia was thrown into the picture. Just to get the contract they wanted from her family and now that they had gotten it. She was thrown out of their house like a commodity. *************** ''Dad....'' Olivia shouted, as she watched her father's company burn down in front of her and not just the company alone, her father was inside. ''I want to meet my dad. Where is he? Bring him out. Where is my dad?'' She shouted in pain, as two hunky officers stopped her from going in. She looked at her mum, who curled up in a corner, crying out her eyes. Her mum had called her and told her about the incident, which had warrant her running down here. Her dad was the only person she cherished, he was the only one she had, and that was because her real mum had died. Elena was just her stepmom. Now that she had lost her dad, to a fire outbreak. Who does she have to call her own? Nobody, there was absolutely nobody for her now? The thought of that, sent her down the floor, as she withdrew her hands from the men and buried her face into it. Minutes later, her father's burnt body was brought out by the firefighters, carried hurriedly to the ambulance, while other burnt bodies were brought afterwards. A lot of family members were crying, as they watched the firefighters carry the bodies. She looked across the park, to find Elena still curled up at the corner crying heavily. She didn't make any attempt to move close to the bodies, and so was Olivia. Her body was too heavy to stand up, and all she could do was scream but there was absolutely nobody to come to her aid. The company she had dreamed of heading one day had just burnt down the ground. It felt like her life had been destroyed just in a day and she knew her life was really unfortunate. Losing your husband, father and dream in just a day was too much for anyone to handle. It was just too much and at that moment of her life, she felt like dying. She felt like stabbing herself or even strangling herself. She watched as the ambulance drove off, and still couldn't do anything. At that time, Elena had left the spot and she looked around wondering were she had gone. Some officers were interrogating two men, who had been lucky to escape the fire. ''Inspector, it was intentional. Someone was spotted in the CCTV footage setting the company on fire. When we hurried out to stop him, he had left. And the company had caught fire'' Olivia with her puffy eyes, watched as the men explained the incident, while the inspector jotted down some points. That simply meant that someone had burnt down the company on purpose. But why..... She was about to leave, when she saw a cofflin on the floor. With the initial EH, it most belong to one of the relatives, she thought. But when she heard the men talk about the kind of shirt, the imposter had worn. She knew, this might be the only evidence she could gather...... *********** As her father's body was buried, she used the sunshade to cover her puffy eyes. Her luggages had been sent from Chase's house and that alone could have broken her. His mum had sent her a cold message and had told her never to come close to any of them again. Chase on the other hand, had not even for once thought of greeting her about the lose of her dad. Was that how little he felt of her? She wanted to break, along with her dad. But the truth was, she didn't want to break. She wanted to live and achieve her dreams. Emma held her shoulder comfortly, as they walked out of the burial ground. ''It's okay, darling. I know it's not easy, but trust me. Everything is for a reason, you will stand strong at the end of the day and your enemies will come chasing after you. Just like his name is Chase, he will come chasing after you'' ************ Two years later, The morning sunlight entered into the open-plan apartment, casting a golden glow on the bustling space. Olivia Smith stood by the large kitchen, scrolling through her tablet as she sipped her coffee. Her auburn hair was tied in a loose bun, and she wore a crisp white blouse tucked into tailored black trousers—a far cry from the broken woman she had been two years ago. “Ms. Smith, the client just confirmed they’ll be arrive in a minute,” her assistant, Clara, called out from the other side of the room. Olivia looked up with a smile. “Perfect. Make sure the team is ready, and double-check the lighting on the new installation. It’s the centerpiece of the collection.” Clara nodded and disappeared into the hallway, leaving Olivia to her thoughts. She set her coffee cup down and glanced around the apartment. It was everything she had dreamed of: modern, filled with light, and entirely her own. Two years. That’s how long it had taken her to rebuild her life. After her father's death, Elena had kicked her out of the house and ever since then she had left that world behind, promising never to go back to her past. She moved to a new city entirely different and began her life a fresh. She had thrown herself into her work, determined to leave the past behind. Her gallery, Canvas & Co., had grown from a small passion project into one of the most talked-about art spaces in the city. Her phone buzzed on the counter, pulling her from her thoughts. She glanced at the screen and saw Emma’s name. “Hey, stranger,” Olivia answered, a smile playing on her lips. “Stranger? Please, I texted you yesterday,” Emma teased. “How’s my favorite art mogul?” “Busy, as always,” Olivia replied, leaning against the counter. “We’ve got a big client coming in today. If this deal goes through, it’ll be our biggest yet.” “I don’t know how you do it,” Emma said. “Two years ago, you were crying over cheap wine in my apartment. Now look at you—running the city.” Olivia laughed. “Cheap wine builds character.” “True,” Emma agreed. “Speaking of character, any chance you’re finally dipping your toes back into the dating pool? Or are you still ‘married to the job’?” The question made Olivia pause. She hadn’t dated seriously since her divorce. There had been casual dates, of course, but nothing that felt worth pursuing. “I’m focused on work,” she said lightly, though a part of her knew it was more than that. Emma groaned. “You’re impossible. Fine, I won’t push. But don’t forget to live a little, okay?” “I’ll try,” Olivia promised. As the call ended, she placed her phone on the counter and glanced at the clock. It was almost time for the client to arrive, once he arrives. They will both leave for the gallery, to finalize the deal. Outside, as she stepped into her park, her assistant stood beside her as they gave each other, an assuring nod. Not long, a sleek black SUV pulled into the building’s driveway. From behind the tinted windows, a familiar pair of piercing blue eyes starred at her. As the man stepped out of the car, she looked on in shock, as they both echoed. "You..."
