I am tough

Blake got into the house, locking the door behind her, and made her way upstairs to her room where she threw her bag onto the bed, took her jacket and boots off and got herself ready to play her game. She turned on the TV and then her gaming console, and after she grabbed her virtual reality headset and bracelets from the display and sat down on the bed right in front of the TV, she put them on and went into the game. Lila was making her way down a gravel road through the forest when suddenly, she heard someone screaming for help. She looked up ahead and there was a man being beaten up by seven goons, with one goon, the leader, standing on the side watching with a smirk on his face; dressed in all back like Zorro but minus the hat and the cape. His name was Black Bandit and he was a notorious criminal. A new objective popped up; SAVE WILLIAM. That was the name of the man being attacked. The goons slapped him and shoved him about, when he lost his footing and fell to the ground, they started kicking him, with the poor man screaming on for his life. Lila walked up to them; wearing black leather pants, a pair of maroon suede boots with a long matching trench coat and a white embroidered corset top, with a sword in a scabbard on her belt and a bow and quiver on her back. "No please stop, stop!" William shouted. He was an adorable twenty something year old slender man with short brown hair and deep green eyes. "Shut your mouth! Quickly open the wagon and get everything inside," Black Bandit said in his grave and hoarse voice. "Hey! What do you think you're doing?" Lila asked and they all turned to her. "Just walk on sweetheart and mind your own business before you get yourself hurt," he said. "Those things don't belong to you." "Of course they don't, we're bandits love it’s what we do. We take stuff that doesn’t belong to us and we get a real kick out of it too,” he said and his goons laughed. "Well I can't let you do that.” "Oh o.k. and are you going to do something about it?" "Yes. I'm going to beat you in front of your hounds and the lot of you are going to leave and never return," Lila said and Black Bandit and his goons popped with laughter. The lot of them being beaten up, by a woman no less, what a joke. "You think you’re tough?” “I am tough,” she said boldly. “Alright then, let's dance shall we?" he said and got into his fighting pose. LILA VS. BLACK BANDIT. Black Bandit attacked her and without even pulling out any of her weapons, Lila beat him and defeated him. After she evaded his punch, she grabbed his hand and kicked him at the back of his neck, and when she let go of his hand and he swung at her again, she grabbed his hand a second time, twisted his arm and kicked him in the face. He staggered a few steps back and when he ran at her wanting to grab her, she caught him with her signature jump spinning kick and knocked him out. Black Bandit hit the ground like a sack of potatoes and his goons quickly ran to his side to carry him away. "That's right, begone, and let me not catch you around these parts again or else next time, I won’t be so kind!" Lila shouted to them as they ran off and disappeared into the forest. Walking up to William, she then grabbed his hand and helped him up. "Are you alright?" "I am now," he answered as he dusted himself. “Thank you so much.” "No problem." "Most people see someone being attacked and just walk on." "Not me," Lila said. "Thank you so very much. Had you not shown up when you did, they would have taken everything I have. I've heard they torment this road but I didn't think they did so at such hours of the day. It's just past noon for goodness sake." "Sorry." "Saw my life flash right before my eyes there I did," William said and she softly chuckled. "I bet, they were really handing it to you." "They really were, I think they cracked a few of my ribs." "Oh dear, do you need to sit down?" Lila asked, genuinely concerned about his wellbeing. "I think I do," he answered and Lila walked him to the front of the wagon where she helped him on and he sat down; giving out a heavy sigh with his hand on his side. “What happened?" “I was just riding my wagon down the road when Black Bandit popped out of nowhere and stood in front of my wagon. I wasn't going to run him over obviously because that’s not the kind of person I am and so I stopped, big mistake. Upon doing so, the others popped up and when they pulled me off the wagon, they started beating me." "Don't worry, they won't be bothering you or anyone else ever again." "With that beating you just gave him, he's never going to leave his house," William said and they chuckled. "You're really good, where did you learn how to fight like that?" "My uncle and mentor Mushabati taught me. After my parents died in a fire, he took me in and raised me as his own. He's the one who taught me everything I know." "Very nice, goodness I wish I had such skills. If I did, things here would have played out a whole lot differently." "Hey, you're fine and that is all that matters," Lila said and they shared a warm smile. "Thank you. I'm William by the way," he said stretching his hand out to her. "Lovely to meet you William, I'm Lila." They shook hands. "Lovely to meet you too. So, is there anything I can give you to show my appreciation? Money? A ride?" William asked. "No please, money will not be necessary but I could do with a ride." "Uh consider it done, please come on board." "Thank you," Lila said and walked to the other side of the wagon where she climbed on and got comfortable, as William then grabbed a hold of the ropes and drove them down the long and quiet straight road. Night fell and Blake joined mom at the dining table for supper. She had made her special macaroni and cheese and it was sliding down the throat beautifully. They were celebrating mom’s new job but they were also celebrating some good news. Her job not only offered her a big office with a great view but a car as well, and so she was giving hers to Blake so that she could use it to drive herself to and from school. "Oh my gosh I get to drive myself to school, ah that is so awesome,” Blake said buzzing. It was what she had been waiting for since she got her driver’s permit and finally it was happening. "Don't get too excited, the car comes with rules,” mom said. "Of course it does, it wouldn't be from you if it didn't," she said. "Alright hit me, what are the rules?" "No joyriding, you come straight home after school." "O.k." "No giving rides to strangers," mom said. “Definitely not . . . Unless they're really cute." "Blake?" "I'm kidding," Blake said chuckling. "And no boys." "What? I’m not allowed to have friends that are boys?” “You know that’s not what I mean. I mean no doing things with boys in the car,” mom said. “O.k. so what are we talking about exactly? No first basing, no second basing or no third basing? You have to be specific." "None of the bases," she said and Blake laughed. "Noted. Anything else?" "Um, no I think that's it. And always remember to wear your seat belt and to drive safely." "You got it. Alright, where are my keys?" Blake said grinning from ear to ear and mom just smiled shaking her head. "They’re in the bowl on the welcome table," she said and Blake got up and went to get them, bursting with so much joy she felt like she was going to explode. Grabbing them, she then shook them in her hand and even did a dance as mom just sat there looking at her, trying so hard not to smile but doing so anyway. "Oh gosh . . . What have I done?"
