Chapter 5

“Clay? Hmm, it doesn’t matter to your cute face.” I’m good with names case why doesn’t my brain work now?

I continued brainstorming until I gave up. I can not think of anything!

“Doggy? Blacky? Jack? Coco? Slurp? Chippy? Choco? Caramel? Vanilla? Sushi-” I stopped realizing what I was saying. Nakakagutom! Suddenly my stomach churned so I barely laughed.

“There you go, I’m hungry.” I squeezed his cheek because it was fat. Looks like he likes what I’m doing. Just cute.

“Black.”

I stopped what I was doing when someone spoke. I searched the owner of that voice and found Uno leaning against the door. Our eyes met and I felt shivers. Immediately if I averted my eyes.

“Just call him Black.” Add to this and let’s get organized. It started walking towards us. I felt nervous. What if he doesn”t like dogs? It’s a sermon again.

“B-Why Black?” I couldn”t help but ask.

“Because his color is black.” He said calmly and knelt in front of me. Wow nice. There is no deep meaning or something. Just call him Black because his color is black. I mimic it in my mind.

I turned to look at the puppy as it left my grasp and approached him. I was slightly surprised by the puppy’s behavior. The heck? Why did he approach that monster? How can he like him?

He picked up the puppy and gently stroked its head. It’s unfair! Why does he seem to be smart with the dog and then he is always mad at me? Hayst animals again.

“Where did you see him?” He asked me while Black was still playing. Yes Black is his name. My boss suggested. I might even be kicked out if I leave.

“In the alley. Wait sir, is it okay with you that I brought a dog here?” I’m confused question.

“Why not?” Answer it. I just nodded and stood up. He has a thing for dogs. I guess so. I thought he hates everything. It is true that there is a miracle.

I waited a while for him to release Black but he didn”t let go of it. He just kept loading it and playing. He looked at me and raised an eyebrow.

I just turned around and started putting away my purchases.

When I was done shifting he gave me Black.“Take a bath and feed him. Make sure he is clean when I arrive.” It said and left. I didn’t speak anymore and just sat there.

I took Black to the bathroom of my room and bathed him thoroughly. He has a lot of dirt, it’s a good thing he doesn’t have lice and itching on his body.

I still can’t move from Uno’s behavior before. He is weird and he is hard to read. My brain wouldn’t believe what he was doing and I didn’t expect him to love dogs. He just showed me- I mean Black his soft side.

I hope he is the same with people.

But he was still a monster. And that won’t change just because of the common sense he showed before.

“Black, don’t go near him again. He is a monster.” I said to the unconscious dog.

CHAPTER 8 • (PART 1)

It’s the day before Christmas and I’m busy browsing the internet to find out what good to cook for Christmas.

I can only do basic things in cooking so I need its help.

Once I was able to choose the dishes I immediately copied the ingredients and its procedure. It’s simple so maybe I won’t have a hard time with it.

After I had written everything down I grabbed dog food. Yes, Black has food because Uno miraculously bought him. I wouldn’t have even accepted the case if I looked angry again so I didn’t do anything. Not to OA but I just don”t really want to be indebted to him.

I looked for Black because it was time for me to feed him. Where did that dog go again? I went all over the place inside case I couldn’t find him.

“Black where are you?” I shout softly. He was just in my room playing earlier. Alas, where else is that dog wearing?

I decided to look outside as well. I first went to the garden but even Black”s shadow I didn”t see.

Next I headed to the back of the mansion where the pool was. I saw there Uno sitting on the side while both feet were submerged in the water. It”s all alone and seems to be deep in thought.

I don’t think Black is here because I turned around and left when I heard a faint barking. I looked at Uno again and I could see Black licking Uno’s hand.

“Woah easy. I won’t read you don’t worry.” Laughing curiosity of it. I approached them and sneezed. They turned their attention to me and turned to me.

“I’m sorry sir if I bothered you but it’s time for Black to eat.” I said and plastic smiled at him.

He looked back at Black and released it. But it would not move away from him. I tried to approach him but he really didn’t want to and he just barked and barked. What’s wrong with Uno and he doesn’t want to stay away from it?

“Don’t force it. Just bring him his food.” Uno spoke again. I just gasped. Annoying! I could do nothing but follow his command.

I went back inside and took a container and put the dog food. I went back to the pool and I caught Black and Uno playing. I admit that he’s kinda cute. It smirked even more because it was smiling. I hope he’s always like this- wait Jessica what are you doing to him?

I was just shaken by the sudden thought. That’s right. I can’t be taken by that even though the smiles she wears really add to her pogi points. Her Adonis-like face that adorns Jessica!

I put down the food I was carrying. Black immediately came here and ate.

The two of us just kept quiet while Black ate. No one dared to speak. I don’t have a topic so I won’t keep quiet. And one more thing, we”re not close either.

Our silence continued for a few minutes until it suddenly spoke.

“Uhm … I’m sorry.” Uno said hesitantly.

I looked up at him and looked at him confused. What is his trip again? I didn’t say a word and touched Black’s head.

“I’m sorry for what I said the other day.” Investigate it. I stopped what I was doing and looked at him again. Sorry? Is he serious? Is this a second miracle? What did he eat and that came out of his mouth? Is he joking? Those are the questions that draw to my mind.

I still didn’t say a word and he just continued talking.

“I shouldn’t have told you that. I’m overdoing it. I didn’t even think about how you felt then.” He explained. I stood up and also sat on the edge of the pool and soaked my foot in the water.

Awkward silence.

“I’m also at fault. I wouldn’t have tampered with your belongings.” I answered him while playing in the water with my foot.

“No. You were not informed. You just did what normal people would do.” It adds. Of course. I didn’t know it was forbidden. I’m just curious. I haven’t been allowed in his room since then. He’s just really OA.

I wish I could measure himGood thing you knew you were beaten. But I know I can’t do that. I’m sorry, I’m still angry.

“I’m really sorry. I won’t say that again.” I told him. I’ll be kind so he won’t fight me anymore.

“Just don’t do it again.” Investigate it. I turned to him and he just bent over while playing in the water as well. Gosh is this true? Maybe it’s just a dream.

“Uhmm.sir.” I spoke to him. He looked at me and raised two eyebrows which I think means ‘why”.

“Can you slap me please?” I request him. His forehead furrowed because of what I said.

“The fvck are you talking about ?!” Mixed with shock it says. I barely jumped because of that. He seemed to realize what was happening so he sneezed weakly.

“I mean why would I slap you?” His words were calm.

“Maybe I’m just dreaming.” I was stunned to answer him. Maybe when I feel sick I will wake up. Then he will return to being a nasty monster.

I stopped in my tracks when I heard a faint laugh. I immediately turned to him and caught him holding back a laugh.

“Why are you laughing?” I wonder question. I’m not joking, am I? May saltik yata to.

When he heard me speak his emotions immediately changed and returned to seriousness. Bipolar, on the other hand.

“N-Nothing.” Answer it.

I just shrugged and turned my attention back to Black who had finished eating.

After that conversation we played-game the naughty Black. Only now did I find out that he was afraid of water. It runs towards Uno and cries softly as if complaining every time I read him in the water. Just cute!

We just stopped playing when Uno’s cellphone suddenly rang. It stood up and signaled ‘excuse me”.

I just kept playing with the dog. What could have happened to Uno and it suddenly got better. Maybe it’s his last day on earth and he’s doing the right thing to get to heaven? Alas, I hope not. The world can’t be handsome-

“What ?!”

I looked at Uno when he shouted. He immediately put down his cellphone and obviously angrily walked back in my direction. What is the problem with this?

“B-Why are you angry?” I nervously asked him. He looks like he’s ready to stumble.

“Dad is coming tonight.” Its jaw-dropping answer.

Chapter 6

Damn you Uno! Why did you involve me in that mess of yours ?!

I wanted to yell at him over and over because of what he was doing. How she became the girlfriend of a maid like me, and worst she even got pregnant!

But of course I didn’t do that. He is still my boss and I need to calm down and talk to him well.

It’s almost 12 and her parents have already come home so we’re the only two left. They haven”t even waited for Christmas Eve since that badtrip sir Martin. To this day I am still stunned and can’t believe his lies before.

“Uhmm-”

“Sir please explain.” I cut to what he had to say. Sigh it and sit close to me.

“Sorry, that was an emergency and I need an alibi. He wants me to marry his friend’s daughter which is against my will.” He explained. Great! Finished now, I have joined this chaos. I was doing everything just to get out of trouble and then he pulled me down.

“What are we going to do now? You can still call your daddy and then tell the truth.”

“No. I have a plan.” He spoke seriously as if deep in thought.

“Whatever it is, I hope the situation doesn’t get worse.” I said first. It’s just that it’s going into his neck. He turned to me and spoke.

“Let’s play the role. We’ll pretend to be in a relationship.” He suggested. I was silent for a moment and faced him as well.

Seriously?

“But you told them I was pregnant. What, am I going to pretend to be pregnant too?” How is that? Argh, why am I still touched?

“Obviously yes. Or if you want us to make your pregnancy real. It would be more realistic.” She smiled and told me. My cheeks blushed because of that. He’s teasing me! Ansarap niya batukan but of course he’s my boss.

“I’ll just put a pillow on my stomach instead of doing what you’re saying.” I’m almost done with him. It’s even more confusing for me by chance.
