Destiny
I woke up to the loud sound of my phone ringing continuously. Groaning, I grabbed my phone and picked it up. It felt too good to want to leave the bed. Last night was the most amazing night of my life. Though I had never thought I would end up having s*x with my mate as soon as I met him, I don’t think I could have asked for anything better.
“Hello,” I answered the call without checking the caller ID and was immediately met with the loud voice of my best friend, instantly giving me a splitting headache.
“Des, oh my God! Finally! Where the hell have you been? Your brothers are going to kill me if you don’t reach home.” Keira screamed.
“Will you calm down, you’re giving me a headache.” I groaned, and I heard her sigh.
“I am sorry, I have been worried sick about you. You left the club yesterday without saying anything. I thought you went home but Riley and Aiden have been calling me non-stop asking for you. I told them you crashed at my place last night but I think they’re going to be knocking on my door if you don’t reach home soon.” I immediately felt guilty for troubling her.
“By the way, where were you? Should I come and pick you up?” She asked.
“No, I’ll manage. I am sorry for troubling you Keira, and I will tell you everything, but right now I have to go home. Talk to you later. Bye!” I replied, before disconnecting the call. I turned to my side, only to find the other side of the bed empty.
“Maybe he is in the bathroom?” I whispered before trying to get up. I immediately blushed at the pain between my legs as the images from the night before filled my head. His scent was still fresh in the room, making me realise he must have woken up a few minutes before I did. It was still very early in the morning.
I got up from the bed, wincing at the searing pain I felt. My mate was an enormous man, and I never thought he would fit considering my 5’1” frame. I blushed again at the thoughts that filled my head. Strangely enough, Dawn was silent in my head.
Trying to get rid of the explicit thoughts, I picked up my clothes and quickly dressed up. My eyes landed at the red spot on the bed, an obvious evidence of losing my virginity to my mate. I willed myself to peel my eyes off the bed, and when I turned I found bundles of money on the nightstand.
I frowned trying to ignore the dreadful feeling in my heart. My heart raced as I saw how much money was lying on the table. My eyes landed on a piece of paper, and that only increased the fear in my heart. There were many thoughts going through my head, and it took everything in me to pick the note to read it.
“Tiny,” the first word of the letter made my heart race. He called me tiny because he thought it goes well with my name and short frame. I willed myself to read trying to push down my overwhelming emotions.
“Tiny,
Thank you for tonight.
I had a lot of fun, and I know you enjoyed yourself too. Oh, and thank you for loaning me money for drinks too.
I know you only helped me because you thought I am a poor man from the streets who can’t afford to buy himself a drink. I heard your conversation with your friend.
Just to be clear, I don’t think you are my mate because I felt absolutely nothing. Besides, who would want a desperate Omega like you as a mate who only wants to sleep with men the first chance you got.
If you are indeed my mate, then consider yourself rejected.
I take nothing for free; I have left you money for the night. Don’t worry, I added a little extra for your first time, and also for the drinks you paid for.
It was good doing business with you.
Caleb”
I don’t know how long I sat on the floor looking at the letter with tears streaming down my eyes. No matter how much I tried, I couldn’t believe that my mate could be so brutal. How could he think so lowly of me? He was definitely not a human, since he knew I was an Omega.
Did he really not feel the mate bond? I felt broken inside, the feeling of rejection overwhelming every other emotion I felt at this moment. He didn’t even know me, yet it took him less than a few words to judge me. Yet, I am not the one who said them.
What was I going to do now? I was already an embarrassment for the family. Was me being an Omega not enough? How would they feel if they found out my mate rejected me? Mate bond is a very serious thing in my pack. It is said to be a blessing and to get rejected was like being cursed.
No, I can’t bring more shame to my family. They suffered enough for me already; I don’t have to make it worse. This was forever going to be a secret in my heart. No one will know I found my mate and got rejected.
I pushed myself on my feet, ignoring the pain in my heart and body before I wiped my tears. No matter how much it hurts, I will let no one know about it. I gathered all the money and packed it inside a box I found lying near the bed.
I searched the drawer to find a piece of paper and wrote a note for the man that was supposed to love me. My head throbbed as I tried my best to push my pain aside but a few tears still escaped my eyes.
I dropped the note in the box before making sure it was sealed securely. Wiping my tears, I walked out of the room to the reception to do what I intended to do next. “Excuse me?” I softly whispered, and the receptionist looked up with a polite smile.
“Good Morning Ma’am! How can I help you?” She asked in a gentle tone.
“Hi, I’m Destiny Sparks, could you please help me wrap this up?” I requested and her eyes widened possibly at the mention of my name. This hotel belonged to our pack, and they all knew the Alpha and Beta family very well so she probably recognised me because of my last name.
“Of course, right away!” She replied and instantly pulled out a sheet of gift paper. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes because this certainly wasn’t a gift. However, I had to make sure no one opened it except him. Within seconds, the receptionist placed the wrapped box on the counter with a smile.
“There you go!” I smiled gratefully at her and whispered a thank you. I grabbed the pen and wrote Caleb’s name on it before turning to the receptionist again.
“I am sorry for the trouble but I need another favour.” I said, feeling guilty for troubling the staff.
“It’s no trouble at all, please tell me what I can do for you?”
“Can you make sure this box reaches the guest who stayed in presidential suite 4?” I asked, and her eyes widened in what looked like fear at the mention of Caleb.
“O— of course,” she stuttered before grabbing the box she had just packed.
“Please make sure you give it to him and no one else. It’s very important.” I requested, and she nodded her head in understanding. “Thank you!” I whispered before walking out of the hotel. I had to reach home before Keira got in trouble. As impossible as it sounded to me, but it was time to move on.
