The chemical hospital smell in the air hit me first, as Zaiden pushed the door open. Then, I saw her. A girl, maybe seventeen or eighteen, lying in the bed. Bruised, and beaten, with her eyes swollen shut. She looked very similar to me, only with dark brown hair that I had as a child.
