CHAPTER 26 THE SUNBEAM SHINING through the skylight above Mitch’s bed settled on my face, and as I opened my eyes and blinked a few times, everything we’d done the previous night came back with startling clarity. What had I been thinking? I was married, for goodness’ sake! My wedding ring was still firmly on my finger, the one resting on Mitch’s chest as he breathed slowly in and out. I’d given in to a temptation I shouldn’t have, no matter how juicy it was, and now I had to live with myself. I scrambled out of bed and saw the tattered remains of my jeans on the floor. f**k. f**k!
