When they arrived at the restaurant the valet took the car. The doorman escorted them inside. The maitre d’ checked Tony’s name from the reservation list and had them follow him. The ambiance of the restaurant was very romantic. There was some soft music playing from the satellite radio.
Mallory reached across the table and took his hand. “You’ve been very good to me so far. I want to thank you for everything.”
They had drinks. Mallory’s system was beginning to adjust to the intake of the alcohol. She drank two drinks during the evening. She held them nicely. He was proud of her. They had a delightful dinner and one more drink for the road.
