Mistakes Were Made

Four months have passed, and I still haven't found my mate. My pack even held a ball, inviting both Canadian and American packs. Many mates were found but not for me. I don't want to give up, but time is running out.

"Goddess, if you can please grant me my mate, I will honor her and love her beyond my death!" I pleaded with the goddess, hoping she heard my pain of not having my luna by my side.

Bethany and her crowd still attempt to get me to be with Bethany, and my Beta and Gammas mates, Silvia and Olivia, have taken to play interference, so I am not bothered by them. The tactics they have taken have been relentless. One protected the shower room door of the pack gym so Bethany could try coming into the shower with me, saying she didn't know I was inside. Another spiked my drink at a meeting with the Elders and then led me to a room where Bethany lay naked on the bed. Thankfully, Silvia had overheard their plan and followed them. I have never seen my Betas wife so livid with anger. She is one she-wolf I don't ever want to piss off.

I have taken to sleeping in my office and showering in Lars suite so the slut troup can't find me. An alpha running from a bunch of horny, power driven she-wolves.

Lars looked at me and called my name. " Hey McKinnon, did you even hear a word Mark or I have said? You seem to be in another world, man!"

"Sorry, with those she-wolves pulling these stunts, I'm not myself. You would think they would get the hint and back the f**k off." I frowned just at the thought of them.

A knock sounded at the door and Mark went to answer. Two she-wolves stood out in the hall one older than the other. I looked at them puzzled, " Can I help you?"

"Alpha, please forgive us, I don't know how it happened, but while I was away visiting my cousin who recently mated outside the pack, a horrible mistake was made!" She sqeaked out the last of her statement. " I have tried everything to correct it, but I returned too late to do anything. A human bought the Marshall farm!"

Lars and Mark both jumped to their feet. "A HUMAN BOUGHT IT! HOW THE f**k DID A HUMAN GET ACCESS TO WOLF REAL ESTATE!"

I pounded my fists on my desk cracking the wood, then grabbed it a flung the desk against the wall. " NEVER IN THE HISTORY OF THIS PACK HAS A HUMAN LIVED WITHIN OUR TOWN!" My eyes were glowing, and Mac was struggling to come to the surface.

The older she-wolf tilted her head in submission while the younger one cowered behind her. I was angry but I didn't wish to scare these ladies. Taking a deep breath I calmed myself and pushed my wolf back. " Explain in all to me. Is there any way to get the property back and give this human their money back?"

" My name is Erica, Alpha, and this is Lindsey. She works under me at the real estate agency in the human city. We have both human contracts and wolf contracts. While I was away, Lindsey placed the Marshall farm up for sale when the last heir moved because she found her mate during the ball two months ago. I take the blame for this mistake as Lindsey is new to the business, and I'm in charge of her." She quietly stated.

Lindsey stepped forward and shakenly explained herself. "I apologize, Alpha, I accidentally placed the Marshall farm on the human site about two weeks ago. When a lawyer reached out to me, I presumed he was acting on behalf of a wolf looking to relocate here. It was my first solo sale, and I was excited. I didn't look into it properly or realize which site it was listed on." Tears streamed down her face as she continued. " It's all legal, and when Erica came back yesterday, I was so ecstatic and showed her my sale. It was then she noticed it came off the human site."

" I tried to contact the lawyer involved, but he said the buyer Amaris Kinsley was already packing her things and getting ready to leave and should be here by the end of next week. I tried to explain the mistake saying the property wasn't supposed to go up for sale yet, but he said that the papers are legal and binding, and all parties have already finalized the sale." Erica explained. " I spoke with the legal department, and there is nothing to be done if the new owner doesn't want to get a refund. A human is moving into our town, even though on the outskirts she is still coming."

I dismissed them and turned to my Beta and Gamma. Both of them had wide open mouths and blinking eyes as if in a trance unsure of what to say. " Well we are f****d! We need a plan either we accept this woman or we find a way to make her run for the hills! Either way, a mandatory pack meeting is needed for all. Pups included."

I arranged the meeting for the following day, hoping to have a plan in place before I had to break the news. I decided to speak to my father and mother.

I entered their home and smelled my mother's freshly baked bread and stew she was cooking. My stomach growled, making her jump. I smiled at her." Sorry, Ma, but the smells are so wonderful, and I forgot I haven't eaten today."

"Well, if you're hungry, go wash up and set the table. Your father should be home any minute."

I quickly did as she instructed and was finishing as my father came in. He grabbed my mom by the waist and gave her a huge kiss. I could see the love between them, and it made me long for my fated mate.

"Son, this is a surprise! How have you been, and what's with a mandatory meeting tomorrow?" He inquired.

"No business til after we eat!" My mother proclaimed, and she placed the food on the table. "Come eat, it's ready."

As we ate, we caught up on our daily lives. My father growled when I explained Bethany and her troops attempt at getting me to bed her. My parents know I am saving myself for my mate and her only. It's not an easy thing for an alpha wolf. Dinner was as delicious as ever, I really miss my mother's cooking. Together, we cleaned up and did dishes then gathered in the living room.

I hunched my shoulders and saw worried glances between my parents. " I need help and advice!" Sighing, I explained the situation and why the meeting was called. When I finished, I could see they were mindlinking each other and waited.

My mother spoke first, " Sweetheart, it isn't a disaster. We need to learn about this human girl before doing anything drastic. We are not rude people and without reason can not drive someone away. Yes, the pack needs to be aware and understand that they have to be extra careful. I will be the first one to greet her and welcome her to the town. Hopefully, I can learn why she chose here to live and see if there is any way she would be willing to resell and move."

My father nodded and smiled. " Your mother will always be the peacekeeper. I agree though, and when we address the pack together tomorrow, we will outline the plan. Let's just hope there aren't any problems until this can be figured out."

I left my parents feeling a little better over this unforseen issue. I couldn't wait to get some sleep. As I approached my suites I saw Bethany standing outside my doorway.

"Baby, I knew you would chose me! I promise to make you happy." I looked at her inconfusion and she reached for my zipper and started to undo my pants.

Shaking my head awake I staggered backwards putting space between us." What the hell are you talking about?"

She pouted " The meeting tomorrow, my uncle told me that your going to announce your chosen mate! It has to be me, I know you have feelings for me."

Mac let out a growl which caused her to step back and bow her head. " First off don't ever touch my human again, second why would anyone chose a slut like you. I would abandon my human if the thought of choosing you crossed his mind. Find a different tool to get off on, you will never be with us or be the Luna of this pack." Mac snapped at her as he took control of my words. I smiled to Mac and laughed as Bethany ran off crying.

"Mac, we need a shower!" He huffed as I walked in the door and went to clean myself up.
