After changing into new clothes, Grayson and I stroll through the many passageways of Thornfield. Our destination? The back exit and woods beyond. As we step along, I can’t help but imagine the two of us as Brutus and Vita… and our own pups scampering along in our wake. My soul aches.
Please, let this dream become real.
Soon, we step outside the city walls and onto a clearing beyond. We reach a long stretch of grass that’s bordered by a stone wall on one side and trees on the other. The weeping oak is the only arbor between the wall and the forest. It’s our pack’s main meeting spot.
Taryn and the older shifters stand just beyond the tree line. All of them are in human form and sporting pack leathers. The clearing itself is packed with pups. The little ones scamper. Play-fight.
