Her face was smothered with fur as she clutched Heather’s toon and they soared into the sky. Alyssalee had never had a flying mount in SoS. They were expensive, but more than that, Alyssalee preferred to be closer to where the action was on the ground. She might have to rethink this now that she no longer used SoS for pleasure. It was all work at this point. Life and death hinged on her success or failure in a virtual world. As they flew in the direction of the BOT, Alyssalee concentrated on the paths of light, which she couldn’t see anymore. Concentrate, Alyssalee told herself. Still, nothing. “I don’t see the data streams from the BOT,” she yelled over the wind passing through the giant eagle’s wings. “If I were them, I would have moved the BOT because of their compromised location,”
