I’ve never been a man who lets much get to him. But hearing my niece’s words, how she wanted to be with me, killed me. I made Greer a promise that I would always be there for her, especially if anything ever happened to her parents. That baby took my words to heart, and I won’t let her down.
Dragon still isn’t speaking to me; he hasn’t since the day Kyla was knocked down. Well, he has, but only to berate me for what I did. I can’t say sorry anymore because it gets me nowhere. Kyla forgave me, but Dragon never has.
