Chapter 2

1162 Words
Molly’s POV “You were excited to meet me?”. This guy must be in college, possibly older. Which is not a turn off for me, but I am a senior in high school still, just turned 18 a few weeks ago. He is tall, muscles visible under his collared dark blue Nike shirt. His sandy brown hair tucked in under his TaylorMade golf hat. With matching hair growing in from his five o’clock shadow. He was extremely handsome, maybe even a model. Which brings me back to why he would want to meet me? I shake my head to wake up from my enthrallment and clear my throat “Again, I think you have made a mistake, I’m still in High school and I don’t live in this area, we are a visiting school from out of town, playing in the half moon Bay tournament”. The stranger looks down as if I’ve somehow disappointed him in the most hurtful way. For some reason I feel bad for making this man sad and try to recover our introduction. “My name is Molly, Molly Mello.” I throw my hand out for a handshake and try to hint to him that I don’t want to end things awkwardly and try to start over by properly introducing myself. “Molly Mello”, the stranger repeats back, slowly, and deeply, looking me in the eyes with admiration? As if repeating my name was forever engraved in his memory. I continue to hold out my hand and wait for him to respond, finally after a few seconds, he slides his hand to my palm slowly, once our hands make contact, he takes his thumb across the top surface of my hand and gives small playful strokes, giving me goosebumps and a tingly feeling running through my body. “Wyatt Gray”, he holds my hand a little longer than I would usually allow someone to do. We stand there for what felt like a whole minute till I hear Jill, who I forgot was with me, yell out, “girl, hurry your ass up! The others are done fishing their balls out of the pond and we are holding up the game”. I immediately let go of Mr. Grays hand and give my flashy game on smile to Jill “I’m coming!” and I turn back towards Whyatt and give him a salute, “nice meeting you Wyatt!” I turn to continue my game, but Wyatt grabs my elbow as I turn away. “At least give me your number before you go? I would love to make up for this misunderstanding”. I was getting a little out of my comfort zone now. My dad would freak if he found out I was not only flirting with an older guy, but to go out on a date? I needed to let this guy down hard so he would leave me alone, but when I saw the look on his face, I felt guilty and didn’t want to disappoint him. “I’m sorry but, I don’t quite feel comfortable with going out with someone older than me”. I quietly respond and hope that he will understand. “I’m only 24 though”, he says in his defense and continues looking at me pleadingly. I wasn’t ready for him to respond so quickly and can’t help but chuckle, I can’t believe this guy wants my number that badly. “Yeah, that’s six years older mister! You probably have started a career, purchased a home, on your way to wanting to start a family! I have the best years of my life about to start, I’m sorry, but no thank you”. My body is already turned from him, and I pull away to make my way towards Jill. “Well then I guess I’ll just have to be patient and wait a little longer” Whyatt says confidently. Like that’s going to happen? “Ha, good luck with that Wyatt” I mutter. And I continue to walk away so I can continue with my game. I feel Wyatt’s presence is finally gone and sure enough, he is no longer behind me. Feeling relieved and even a little disappointed by his absence, I continued golfing with Jill and the rival team, which ended up going poorly because I couldn’t get my mind off of this Wyatt Grey. Wyatt’s POV I watch my little mate walk away and struggle to keep Benson contained, knowing if he got out, we would scare our Molly away and never see her again. “Benson, she is human. We must take this slowly or else we could lose her forever”. But we can’t just let her go now, She is our mate, our future Luna, if word get’s out we have found our mate and we leave her unprotected, our enemies could get to her and we will never have her, Benson begins whimpering at the thought of someone hurting our little mate. “But she is right, she must finish school, go to college, I don’t want to have her miss out on what’s supposed to be the best time of her life. She might resent us for that and end up rejecting us for trying to take that away”. Okay, I will wait, but only if you promise to assign someone to watch over her till, we can claim her. “Of course, and I know the perfect wolf to do so”. I send a mind link to Drew, “meet me at the car, we have much to discuss” I try to hold my excitement in. “Aww Alpha lost his ball and decided to take a double par? Very unlike you to let me win Alpha”, Drew snickers. “The game doesn’t matter now; I just found my mate and will need you to find everything you can on her, start researching a Molly Mello” I say urgently. “Congratulations boss! But why can’t she just tell you everything about herself right now?” Drew asks hesitantly. I pause before answering, hoping that my Gamma won’t be disappointed to find out his future Luna is not a wolf like us. “Because she is human and has a little more growing up to do before I can make her Luna of our pack” I say impatiently. “Now meet me at the car, we have lots to discuss about protecting my little mate, do not mention to anyone that I have found her. We must keep her safe and unknown till she is ready”. Imagining the amount of time, I will have to wait for my mate makes me wince. I finally found her, but still can’t have her. This is definitely going to test me and my patience.
