Chapter 18

Drew’s POV

As soon as I made it into town, it was about 2:00am. From what Travis told me briefly through the mind link, someone knows about Alpha’s secret, Luna. I stopped by the office to see if Wyatt would be there, and the door is locked. I head to Molly’s apartment next and try to get in proximity to mind link my Alpha to let him know I’m here. The problem is, Molly’s apartment door is wide open and the smell of multiple wolves other than Alpha’s scent is present. And from the smell of it, they left recently. I begin fallowing the scent and constantly trying to mind link the Alpha, hoping he is close enough to get my message. “Alpha! Where are you?” I mind-link him for the fourth time and finally I get a response I was not wanting to hear. “Drew! Molly has been taken. I’m not too sure who got to her, but I’m right behind them. I don’t recognize their scent. They are taking the paved bike path behind the apartments. I redirected myself and find the open gate that accesses the bike path. For about ten minutes I’m at a full sprint. It’s not till the smell of blood that I’m allowing my wolf to take over and get us their faster. “Chase, I can’t change into my wolf form right now. I’m not sure if the Luna is aware of our existence yet and don’t want to scare her”, my wolf replies back “I can increase your speed, but the blood I smell is from the Alpha, I don’t think he’s healing”. “I think your right Chase, look! There they are!”. I approach cautiously because Molly sees me coming and I can tell she is unsure if I’m one of the bad guys or just a random bystander. I put my hands in front to show her I am no threat. “Luna, are you okay”, I immediately asked, looking for any wounds. All I see is a severe black eye and the blood on her smells like it’s all from the Alpha... “Umm I don’t think I know you, and my name is actually Molly”, she replies suspiciously. “I’m sorry, Molly, yes, my name is Drew and Travis sent me here, I need you to let me see the Alpha, he is not going to last if we just sit here” I ad, trying not to sound frantic.. She looks at me confused, “How did Travis know where I was? How did he know I would need help? And who is Alpha” Molly begins to sound sporadic, as she tries to piece up all the confusing s**t I just said. I took her hand and tried my best to calm her down. “I will explain in a bit. But right now I need to figure out why the Alpa-I mean Benson isn’t healing.” Alpha is still in his dog form and the cursed collar is probably preventing him from healing because he’s not in his wolf form. “Molly, I am going to remove Benson's collar and when I do, he will change. I need you to keep an open mind and not panic at what you’re about to see, okay?” I started removing the collar before she could respond. And instantly the dog form that Benson has been disguising himself as these last few years, begins to grow and take his natural wolf form. As soon as he is full size, his wounds begin to stop bleeding and properly seal up. He won’t look good as new for probably another day or two, but all that matters is he’ll survive. Alpha is still unconscious and I looked at Molly, who was wide-eyed and began to tear up again. “Molly, I know this will be a lot to take in, but all will be explained really soon.” I said calmly and continued to hold her hand. She doesn’t say much but continues to stare at the Alpha. “She will be okay Drew, she is his mate and will understand”. Chase says coolly. Benson begins to stir, and finally looks up at Molly, relieved she is okay. He looks back at me and notices I’m holding the cursed collar and whips his head back around at Molly worriedly. Molly just looks at him for a few minutes till I finally interrupted, “Umm, maybe we should get you back to your apartment Molly, we can explain everything there. Plus, we don’t know if anyone else will be coming after you. So, I’m going to need you to pack up some things so we can transfer you to a safer place”. Molly nods in agreement and slowly rises to her feet. Benson immediately rises as well, which causes Molly to flinch. Benson whimpers and takes a step back to show her he means no harm. “Molly, he will not harm you, he is here to protect you. He was made for you by the Goddess herself. He has risked a lot to be here for you these last couple years, so please give him a chance”. I tried coming to my best friends’ defense and Molly nodded again and silently we made our way back to the apartment. As we get off the bike path, I clamp the cursed collar back onto Benson. We can’t have someone see a wolf walking around the apartment complex. We get to Molly’s doorway, and I go inside first to make sure no one else might have showed up, “It’s all clear”, I announce. Both Molly and Benson calmly make their way inside. “Luna, go grab what you will need for the next few days. I will carry them to the Alpha’s apartment, and we will get you situated there.” Molly has her arms crossed across her body and holds on to her opposite arms. She looks so uncomfortable and scared. I’m sure she is still unsure if she can trust us, but fortunately, she’s cooperating for now. Molly turns towards her room and pauses, “My name is not Luna” she comments, before disappearing. After about fifteen minutes, Molly reappears from her bedroom, and I go to grab the box of things and duffel bag she has packed. She hands it over and Benson and I escort her out to the Alpha’s apartment.
