Mira's pov
It was already the last day of midterm exams. James helped me a lot to prepare for it, we stayed up late at nights studying which I was really grateful for. We got really close and he had asked me to go to the movies with him when the mid terms were over.
"Yeee!... We're free let's go to the karaoke", Steph said while walking fast to meet up with me. Kat nodded in agreement with her.
"I already have plans with James this night, we can do that another day", I said.
"You two a thing?", Kat asked.
"Not yet", I replied.
"Not yet huh??" Steph said teasingly. What if he asks you out tonight? You would finally abandon your single title, I'm getting giddy. Finally, my friend gets to be in a relationship.
"Hey! don't rush it, he hasn't asked me out yet. Also I think he's cool but I don't like him in a romantic way", I said. You never know what happens when it comes to love honey. "Now let's go get you pretty for your date and future boyfriend", Kat said while dragging me off.
We reached my house, they looked like excited puppies so I let them do whatever they wanted with my face. And also pick out the dress they thought would wow James. I had no say, I just did what they wanted
"Finally the reveal, you can now open your eyes", Steph said.
Wow!...you girls are damn good, I can barely recognize myself.
"James will have his breath taken away once he sees you", Kat chipped in. Now get going to your future boyfriend.
I picked up my handbag and car key and headed out for the date.
When I got the cinema, it was 7:15pm. I saw James already waiting out for me. He wore a a blue two piece shirt and trouser, he also did his hair all the way back which made him look more manly. He smiled and waved when he saw me.
"Hiii...sorry for being late, I got caught in traffic", I said when I reached where he was sat. "It's okay, you look gorgeous", he said while staring at me.
I blushed. "You look good too", I commented.
We went into the theatre and the movie has already begun. We look for our seat and sat down. I felt bored, he picked a romance movie and romance just isn't my thing. I would have preferred a horror or thriller. He has often looked at me and smiled which I thought was cute.
The movie was over and we headed to the restaurant he reserved, it was a fancy restaurant. After dinner, I was already tired I wanted to go home to rest but he suggested we go have ice cream at the desert down the street so I agreed. I can rest later I thought.
"I like you Mira", James suddenly confessed when we were in the desert shop.
"Will you be my girlfriend?", he asked me.
I puzzled for a moment. I knew he would ask me out but I didn't expect it to be this soon.
"Yes", I said. I think I like him.
He stood up and hugged me, I hugged him back. I'll treat you right he said to me.
"You better do", I replied.
I was happy I didn't go home to rest, we talked for a while before he took me home.
The next day, Steph and Kat came over to hang out with me.
"Oh my goddddd!...you two are finally a thing", Steph shouted.
"I knew it wouldn't be long before it happened", Kat said.
"So have you two kissed?" Steph asked.
"Heyy!, we just started dated yesterday, what's wrong with you?", I shyly said.
"Who cares if it was just yesterday? And don't forget to tell us when it happens", Steph said.
"Yes ma'am" I joked.
Heyyy girls I heard someone that sound like Jim say. I looked over and it was him. "What are you doing here buttface?" I asked him.
"I came to hang out dimwit", he said.
"Go hang out with your friends", I said irritated.
"That's why I'm here", Jim said
I don't recall us being friends.
"I'm tired of you two arguing whenever you meet", Kat said to us.
We wouldn't be arguing if he wasn't annoying I defended myself.
"Whatever, today is a happy day so no need to argue", she said.
"What's the occasion?", Jim asked.
"Mira finally got a boyfriend", Steph said excitedly.
What?? He shouted. When did that happen and who's he? he asked.
"Just yesterday and it's James", she replied.
"James Torres?", He asked again You're asking a lot of questions. "Did you think I would never get a boyfriend huh?", I asked annoyed.
"Yea, never knew someone would date a dimwit like you. I feel bad for James", Jim said
That's it i've had it, you need some beatings. I ran towards him to hit him but he started running too.
"Heyy!... stop right there jerk", I shouted to him.
"Why would I stop for you to hit me, no way", he said. We ran for a short while before he suddenly stopped and turned around. I did not notice him stop so I bumped into him. I could feel his chest and it was hard. I could tell he works out. I moved my hands a little to feel his abs which he noticed. I came to my senses and moved away from him.
He looked at me and smirked.
So did you like what you felt, bet James doesn't have such defined body, he mocked.
I don't know what you're talking about, I denied and walked away feeling embarrassed. I went back to my room where Steph and Kat were.
"Why is your face red?", Kat asked.
"Nothing", I said.
"Jim what did you do to her?", Steph asked immediately she saw him walk in.
More like what did she do to me he retorted.
Huh?? They both stared at us confusingly.Jim left after awhile. He didn't talk much and seemed kind of pissed before he bid his farewell and left. I wonder if something was wrong.
My friends left over and they kept talking about James. They were more excited than I was which I found funny.
