Jim's pov
I was shocked when I heard Mira and James were dating.
What?? I shouted. When did that happen and who's he I asked.
The news was hard for me to process.
"James", Steph replied.
"James Torres??", I asked.
I tried to act okay while I was still in her house, I teased her like I normally and we both ended running round her house. I suddenly stopped when the news popped into my head that she's dating James, I turned around to look at her. She didn't see me stop so she crashed into me. My heart started to race when our bodies touched. She didn't move away immediately like I thought she would instead she started checking out my torso. I found it amusing and I loved every little movement she made on my chest.I felt electric spark travel down my body. I've never felt that before.
She moved away when she realized what she was doing.Like what you felt, bet James doesn't have such defined body, I teased her though I was upset by the fact she was going out with him.
I don't know what you're talking about she denied then left hurriedly.
I stuck around her house for a little while before leaving, I was feeling down so I went home.
The weekend went by slowly, I didn't go to Mira's house during the weekend, I just couldn't accept the fact that she was someone else's girl.
I drove to school and in the car park I saw Mira and the so called James. They seemed like a happy couple which pissed me off more. James was carrying her bag pack and walking her to class.
Damn James i mumbled to myself.
It was break time, I walked into the cafeteria with my friends and I spotted Mira with her friends and James. I just can't get use to this sight urghh...I signed.
I sat across their table they were at. James seems to be the touchy type because why does he keep touching her every damn minute. Keep your hands to yourself man I thought.I keep darting back at them. And I see Mira smiling brightly at him.
My chest tightens and unintentionally stabs his food hard with a fork which made a sound which Jeremy notices.
“Dude, are you okay? You’ve been glaring at them for ten minutes.” he asks
"I’m fine." I stab my food even harder
Then, her eyes met mine for a split of second, I hurriedly looked away. I left the cafeteria without finishing my food.
"Where are you going man?", Jeremy asked when I stood up to leave.
"Off to practice", I replied.
Wait for me, he grabbed his food tray and rushed to leave with me.
I kept missing the net during practice, I just couldn't focus. I was called over by the coach.
"What's wrong boy?", The coach questioned me.
Nothing is wrong sir.Does not seem like nothing, whatever us wrong fix it before the season's competition. You're our ace and I don't need you making mistakes. Is that clear Jim.
"Yes sir", I replied.
I left for the locker room to go wash up and change. When I went in I overheard some boys talking about Mira and James.
"I saw them at the hallway holding hands", one boy said.
"Heyy!...come look at this", another said while showing them his phone.
I went over to look at what he was showing them. It was a picture of James pecking Mira's cheek. I felt my blood boil.
"Look at his followers, it has increased significantly Kim", one of the basketball team mate said.
"She's the school's goddess obviously, everyone would want to know who her boyfriend is", one of them said.
"Wow...he really hit the jackpot with Mira, I wonder how he did", another said."I wish I was him, it means my popularity status would have grown", Kim commented.
"He's so lucky", another chipped in.
I left there and went to wash up as I had planned earlier. I was done and ready to leave. I opened the door and I saw Matilda standing right in front of the door.
"Heyyy...Jim I was waiting for you. Are you free? Let's go grab something to eat", she said while she linked her arm to mine.
I was not in the mood to deal with her. I pulled her arm away from mine.
"I'm not hungry", I said while walking away.
She followed me and kept talking, wish she could just shut up and go away. Can't she see I'm not in the mood for her chatterbox.
"I heard that Mira and James are a thing now, that wasn't a combination I imagined", she blabbed.
"Dumb b***h" I thought to myself.
I ignored her and to walked to the car park. I saw Jeremy waiting for me beside my car. I entered my car and about the start the engine, I saw the most popular couple in school, Mira and James walking into the car park holding hands. My jaws clenched and I held my steering tightly.
"What's wrong with you today bro?" Jeremy asked.
"Nothing bro", I replied.
It's not nothing, your head has been all over the place, you kept missing the net through out today's practice, and you had that look in the cafeteria. He stated.
"I said it's nothing", he murmured.
"You're clearly angry and it's nothing, just admit you like mira bro and you're pissed she's with James, it's really obvious", he said.
He looked over to me.
Why do you look puzzled when you made it so obvious, it would have been weirder not to notice.
"Okay yea I like her", I admitted. I didn't even get to confess my feelings to her I confided in Jeremy. You'll get your chance hopefully and honestly I don't think they are both a good fit. "You two would look way better together", Jeremy said.
"I know you're just saying that to make me feel better", I said to him.
"Not at all, I bet you a hundred bucks they are going to break up soon", he joked.
"I wish you win the bet", I said.
"I will", he replied back.
I drove off to Jeremy's house to drop him and then went home. I got home and headed straight to my room. Normally I would announce I'm back but I didn't today.
