Alpha's Regret

Chapter 20

I had a feeling that my story would help Nathan and as a fellow omega I wanted to share my similar story. Taking in a deep breath I steadied myself. I was reminding myself that things were different now.

" So when I was growing up I was in the same pack as Kingston. We have been best friends since grade school. It was not until we were sixteen that things changed. As you might know that is when we shift for the first time. It also allows us to locate our soul mate or fated mate. We were shocked to learn that all this time we were mates. "

I had to now take in a deep breath. This next part was gonna hurt. Shutting my eyes I began to take in more breathes to help me locate my center. I knew I was shaking a bit. I could not help it as feelings flowed through me that made me feel like I was back in that time.

A soft hand ran down my arm that made me jump a little. Nathan sent me a smile of encouragement. He shifted a bit to bring us closer.

" You don't have to tell me more if you hurt too much." He offered.

" No, You are sharing your pain so I shall share mine." I stated to him trying to sound stronger than I was.

" Kingston's dad did not wish us to claim each other. He had other plans. Kingston was to marry a girl we went to school with. She was from another pack. Their union would bring the packs together. Make it so both will survive. He married her but did not claim her. However one night we made love and he claimed me. I got pregnant. His father found out and ended the pregnancy." I told him. Tears ran down my face with thoughts of my babies.

My little ones I never go to hold cause the old Alpha was a heartless prick. How one could harm their own family to this day was not something I understood.

Arms now came around me and held me tight. I felt his tears drop to my shoulder as we both cried. I shifted a bit so I could hug him back. Now we were two omegas dealing with the pain of loss. Dealing with how it felt to not have their fated mate. Dealing with the aftermath of assholes.

We must of been like that for hours. Cause I found my neck began to hurt a little. When I looked at Nathan his eyes were swollen from his tears. I could feel the puffiness of mine.

" Jason has not claimed me. He has not even given me a hand shake. We met by chance in town and he was already with his human wife. It tore me to see him be so loving towards another. He forsakes our bond cause his father does not want war with the humans and also cause he wants his pack to follow in the humans ways of living. I have heard that many others have left the royal pack to join lesser packs that still allow same s*x fated mates to be together." Nathan said in a soft voice that was a bit harsh from the crying.

" It's sad how much we are going away from what we are to be. Stepping away from the Goddess and not doing as she wishes. " I stated.

" Micheal...would you mind staying in here with me , tonight?" Nathan asked me.

" Not at all. After baring my soul I long for the closeness of another." I state.

He nods.

" Allow me to go fetch some water for us both." I said sliding to my feet. Only for the bedroom door to open and for Preston to step in.

" Here" He said handing me a pitcher and two wooden cups. The pitcher was full of water.

" Thank you brother" Nathan said and sent a smile at his brother.

Preston looked at us both then returned the smile.

" I will come fetch you both when dinner is ready." He said then left us alone. After we both drank a cup then got back into the bed. We cuddled close and soon we fell asleep.
