[Ryder] "No." The word escaped me in a strangled whisper, my chest tightening until I thought I might suffocate. "Celeste!" I shouted this time, my hands fumbling to unbuckle my seatbelt. Blood slicked my fingers, making them tremble as I yanked at the stiff mechanism. It refused to release. With a growl, I braced myself and gave it one final tug. The buckle gave way, and I twisted in my seat, ignoring the sharp ache in my shoulder as I forced it back into place with a snap.
