Episode 4: The Search

504 Words
Stephen's POV: I couldn't go to work today; cancelled all my meetings. All I wanted was to find my necklace and I was eagerly waiting for news from Arc. I sent him a text this morning reminding him of the urgency of the situation and the need for me to find this person. I didn't tell him, however, what exactly she had taken from me. Thank goodness, Emmanuella my niece was preparing for an important school competition. If not, she would have asked me to go on a picnic with her as she usually does whenever I don't go to work and I feared that my bare neck would have been noticed. Thankfully, I got a call from Arc by 2:30 pm. He had found the details I needed! I was so grateful. Yes, the lady had sent a representative and her name is Amora Bethel. She lived in Leicester, U.K. She attended De Montfort University also there in Leicester. Her house address was sent to me on w******p by Arc. Great! I picked up my phone and called my secretary. “Hello Debby, how are you doing?” “Very fine sir. I'm handling everything here well.” “That's good. Do one thing. Book an evening flight for me to the UK I leave for there tonight. I may spend uhmm a week or two. It's a business trip.” “Ok sir. I will.” “Thank you.” And I dropped my phone. Thankfully Dad and Grandpa weren't around. If not, Dad would have seen through my business trip veil. That man reads me like a book. It's scary sometimes. But I still texted him and told him of my trip. To my relief, he didn't ask for details. My flight took off by 5:45 pm and I arrived U.K by 12:51 am. I checked into Premier Inn Leicester City Centre hotel. I wanted to drive to Amora's address on impulse from the airport but then I told myself: “Bro, you are here already. Just exercise a little more patience.” It was almost 2:26 am when I fell asleep and I set my alarm for 6 am. I wanted to get to Amora's house on time, probably when their gate was still locked. Stephen's POV: It was 6:42 am when I got to Amora's home. Thankfully, the gate was still locked which meant that nobody had left home that day. I was taken by the simplicity of the bungalow and its beautiful white colour. The gates were black with angel designs on them. The roof was orange. I longed to be and even sleep in one of these simple structures. All my life, I have been living in a gigantic, luxurious mansion and it sometimes gets very boring. The gates moved and I looked. “Amora!” I said as I jumped out of the car when I saw her walk out of the gate. “Amora!” “Yes,” she replied before turning to face me.
