Chapter 3
Cassandra’s POV
“Ahhhh!” I collapsed against the brick wall of the alleyway, gripping my hair. “Why is this happening to me!”
“Help me!” My voice snapped loudly. “Someone, please help me!” I was clearly losing my mind.
Finally, after sitting there for almost an hour, I dragged myself up. I struggled out of the alley and walked into the nearest club. The music was deafening. I walked straight to the bartender.
“Give me the strongest thing you have.” I slammed my hand on the wet counter.
“You sure you can handle it?” the bartender asked.
“You look like you've had a rough night.”
“Just pour the drink,” I demanded. “And leave the bottle.”
Before I could grab the glass, a large hand clamped down on my wrist. I spun around and came face to face with Damian. He was the one man who despised my bloodline more than anyone in the world.
“What are you doing in a place like this?” His grip tightened instantly.
“Let go of me, Damian.” I tried to yank my arm back.
“Not a chance.” He jerked me forward. “You are coming with me.”
“Stop it! You're hurting me!” I stumbled behind him as he dragged me forcefully through the crowded dance floor.
He ignored my protests. He kicked open the door to a private room upstairs and shoved me inside. The metal door clicked shut, locking us in.
“Why did you bring me here?” I rubbed my bruised wrist.
“To make you hurt.” He stalked toward me. “You and your family ruined my family. It is time someone returned the favor.”
“I haven't done anything to you.” I backed up until my shoulders hit the wall.
“Your father killed my father.” He slammed his hands on the wall on either side of my head, trapping me. “He is a murderer.”
“Don't you ever call him that!” I shoved his chest hard. “My father is innocent!”
“He is a corporate butcher.” Damian sneered. “He destroyed my family for a profit. He stole our patents, our clients, and finally my father in cold blood.”
“You are lying!” I screamed.
“Now I am going to destroy his precious daughter.” Damian grabbed my chin.
“You can't.” My voice broke into a loud, agonizing sob. “He just died tonight.”
Damian froze completely. “What did you say?”
“He is dead!” I screamed, hitting his chest again. “He died in a car crash. Are you happy now?”
A slow, cruel smile spread across Damian's face. “Happy? I love it.”
“You are a monster!” I slapped him directly across the cheek.
He caught my wrist mid-air, pinning it above my head. “He deserved worse. A quick car crash is too merciful. I wanted to see him rot…No, I would love to see vultures feed on him.”
“Stop talking about him!” Tears streamed down my face.
“He was a coward who finally got what was coming to him.” He pressed his body against mine. “And now, his empire is crumbling, isn't it?”
“I lost everything today.” I wept openly. “My company. My fiancé. My father. They took it all.”
“Good. You deserve to feel exactly how I felt.” His voice dropped, losing some of its angry tone.
“Then kill me!” I yelled, staring right into his eyes. “Make me pay right now!”
“I don't want you dead.” He lowered his face closer to my neck. “I want you to suffer.”
“I am suffering!” I cried, my body was shaking against his. “So finish it!”
“Gladly until you are completely broken.” He loosened his grip on my wrists, letting my hands drop.
“I am empty.” I grabbed the lapels of his jacket, pulling him aggressively against me. “Make me feel something else, Damian. I need to feel something else.”
He stared at my lips. “You hate me.”
“I despise you.” I yanked his collar, crashing my lips against his.
He kissed me back with savage force. It was pure, sober anger. Our teeth clashed. His hands moved roughly down my waist, gripping my hips hard enough to leave marks.
“Tell me you hate me again,” he demanded against my mouth.
“I hate you.” I pulled at his shirt, tearing the buttons open.
He spun us around, throwing me onto the leather sofa. I scrambled to help him pull my dress down. He shoved my underwear aside.
“Look at me,” he ordered, unbuckling his belt.
I looked right into his dark eyes as he pushed himself inside me. I gasped loudly, digging my nails deep into his bare back. He moved fast and hard. He drove all the thoughts of my father out of my head.
“Does this hurt?” he grunted, increasing his pace.
“Don't stop.” I wrapped my legs tightly around him. “Harder.”
“Say my name,” he demanded.
“Damian,” I moaned loudly.
“You belong to me tonight,” he said, breathing hard.
“Yes.” I bit his shoulder to muffle my own loud moans.
Every thrust was an argument. We used our bodies to fight and settle scores. He pinned my wrists to the sofa cushions, dominating me completely. He plunged deeper. I arched my back, meeting his aggressive rhythm. We chased the adrenaline and the grief until my body tensed. I shattered into an intense climax, calling out his name again. He let out a harsh groan seconds later, collapsing heavily onto my chest.
I fell asleep on the couch.
When I opened my eyes, it was morning and sunlight was hitting my face.
“Damian?” I sat up, pulling my ruined dress over my shoulders. No one answered.
I stood up. “Damian?”
The room was entirely empty. He had left me here alone. What was I thinking? He would care or start a relationship with me?
I hissed and grabbed my heels, walking out of the club through the back door.
Thankfully, I saw a cab immediately after I stepped out of the club and hailed the cab. We drove to my estate. It was usually quite my maids where not outside doing their duties. I felt something was not right. I slowly unlocked the doors and walked in.
“Hello? Is anyone here?” I called out. Then, I froze. The entire mansion was completely destroyed. The vases were shattered across the floor. The couches were slashed open. Every painting was torn down.
“What happened here?” I whispered. It was an eyesore. I walked into the formal dining room. I saw a message painted in large, dripping red letters across the wall.
“You can't run away from us. We’ll find you.”
“Who is doing this? What did I do to them?”
I panicked, swallowing hard the lumps I didn't know were in my throat. They were coming for me.
I sprinted up the stairs. I ran into my bedroom, grabbed a bag, and shoved my passport, cash, and some clothes inside. Quickly, I ran out through the back exit, running far away where no one would ever find me.
