Chloe’s Point of View
The woman walked toward us, her presence unsettling, but instead of saying anything, she simply turned and sat on an empty chair. Everyone’s eyes were still on her, but the officiant cleared his throat and continued with the ceremony.
We were blessed as husband and wife and as mates, but Damian was tense. His hands shook slightly, and I could see the unease written all over his face. Gaius, sitting beside us, leaned closer to him.
“Why is she here?” Gaius whispered.
Damian didn’t respond with words, only giving him a helpless look, as though he didn’t know the answer himself.
The ceremony continued, and soon after, my parents were invited to give their speeches. Mother’s voice was filled with pride as she spoke about how she believed in me and wished me happiness
