Marra vale
The chamber was bigger than I imagined big enough to swallow me whole I stood there breathing in the heavy scent of leather smoke and something darker… something that prickled along my skin like a warning. My eyes darted around, trying to find the end of the room, but the shadows beyond the golden torchlight were too deep
The air was too still, too quiet my heart pounded loud in my ears, and I had to wrap my arms around myself to stop the trembling Every instinct screamed at me to run, but where? There was nowhere left, I lost all my chances to run, I couldn't even say a proper goodbye to my mother and brother..I took in a deep breath fighting back my tears now it's not the time to cry I have to stay strong.
The door behind me had already shut with a loud thud locking me inside I swallowed hard I can't show fear I can't let him see fear in my eyes, I have heard a lot of stories about the Alpha king, I know who he is and what he is capable of so showing fear or weakness is not an option, but the silence pressed in from every direction until it became unbearable my breathing quickened my throat was dry. I turned, taking one step toward the faint outline of a desk...
And then he was there.
A blur of shadow and heat slammed into my senses as a strong body pinned me to the wall. My gasp caught in my throat, but his hand came up instantly caging my jaw forcing me to look up.
The Alpha...Up close, he was more than just imposing he was devastating tall, broad, his shoulders blocking out the torchlight, his eyes burning gold like molten metal. His scent hit me in a wave, sharp and intoxicating, a mix of pine and wild musk that made my pulse stutter "Do you know" his voice was low deep almost a growl "how long I have waited for this moment?" My breath caught in my throat, what does he mean by that?
His thumb stroked the edge of my jaw in slowly my lips parted a little but no sound came out, I stared at him with wide eyes every nerve in my body was alert, my skin tingling beneath his touch"I.." I managed to say but my voice was a whisper "You shouldn’t have run vale" he cut in leaning down until his breath was warm against my ear "cause It only makes me want to chase you more… and when I catch you I never let go"
A shiver ran through me as my fingers slowly curled into fists at my sides but I couldn’t push him away...not with the heat of his body pressed to mine, not with the way his gaze seemed to strip away every layer I had left.
His other hand slid to my hip, the pressure possessive and grounding, making it impossible to move his chest slowly rose and fell against mine, but the power in him was a barely leashed thing, I looked into his golden eyes trying to form words I can't look weak in front of him.. I can't "You are trembling" he murmured tilting my chin higher, I still can't see his face but I am sure he smirked"Is it fear… or something else?"
My breath hitched the worst part wasI didn’t know... I don't know what I am feeling myself,I can't think straight with him this close to me,He leaned even closer his lips hovering just over mine so close that every exhale brushed against my skin his eyes never left mine trapping me in that dangerous golden gaze.
"Tomorrow morning" he said his voice low and dark "The bond will happen. You will be mine in every way that matters" the words wrapped around me like a brand, burning into my chest I couldn’t look away from him even as his thumb dragged over my lower lip in a slow maddening stroke and then, just as suddenly as he had pinned me he released me.
I stumbled back a step my spine still pressed to the cold wall my body still humming from his nearness. He didn’t move away entirely...just enough to watch me with that unreadable expression like a predator deciding exactly how it would consume its prey"Rest while you can" he murmured turning toward the shadows again "Tomorrow there will be no going back..you can't escape this vale" I couldn't see where exactly he was because of how Dark the room was.. but they was something in his tone, it sounds like he knew me,like he knew about my existence even before all this happened.
The door opened without a sound the flicker of torchlight spilling in briefly before it closed again, leaving me alone. Only I wasn’t truly alone his scent clung to me warmly and in a possessive way like an invisible chain.
And my body...I couldn’t stop trembling.
