CHAPTER 6

"Ahhh". Emily sighed and looked at her watch, realizing it was already 5 p.m.

"Oh my gosh!! It was already 5 o'clock She gazed at her watch.

She had been so engrossed in her investigation that she had lost track of time. She knew it was time to close work for the day, but she was hesitant to leave her desk.

"Okay let me just compile this file I will be heading out in a minute" she murmured.

She wanted to keep digging into the scandal and uncover more evidence. But she also knew that she had to pace herself and not get burned out.

After compiling the work, she saved her work, shut down her laptop and closed her laptop, deciding to call it a day.

"Yes!!! This is it for today". As she stood up from her desk, she stretched her arms and yawned, feeling a sense of satisfaction with the progress she had made so far.

She packed up her things and headed out of the office, looking forward to a good night's rest and a fresh start in the morning. As she walked out of the building, All she could think of was the letter she sent to the vice President.

"I hope he doesn't decline my invitation" she murmured she decided to maintain herself since she was in an elevator with older workers to avoid questions.

"Ding!! Ding!! The elevator bell rang and the door opened they were already on the last floor. She quietly waited for all the workers who were rushing out of the elevator, finally, it was her turn, and she quietly walked out of the elevator.

She walked twenty steps out of the main building to the garage where she packed her car, she got to her car brought her car keys and pressed the unlock button.

"Tweet!! Tweet!! The car shines a red light repeatedly.

She opened the door and drove home.

On reaching home to her greatest surprise she saw Kate who was standing adjacent to her door, she smiled.

"Kate is here to give me trouble as always" she smiled.

She packed the car, gently opened the door and got out of the car, "Bang!! As he closed the car doors.

"Hey love!!! What are doing standing here??? She asked.

"Well for your information I came here directly from the office" Kate answered with a smile.

"But I gave you my spare key!!!! For this kind of situation," Emily said as she brought out her key to open the door.

"I know right!!! I forgot it at home when I was in a hurry to go to work since I woke up late" she replied in a quiet voice.

They both entered the house...

"just pray your boss will not catch you coming late to work" Emily teased Kate because Kate was a chronic latecomer.

"let me go and take my bath" Emily said as she sluggishly climbed the stairs to her room while Kate followed her quietly.

"Okay suit yourself" Kate said as she rushed to the kitchen.

"Let's what she has In the fridge" she said opening the fridge.

"La la la la la!!! Humming with excitement, Kate was always a carefree person, she always smiled made jokes out of everything and above all a sweet soul.

Suddenly Kate's phone buzzed, breaking the silence in the kitchen. She quickly pulled it out of her pocket and checked the screen.

A message from George flashed on the display. "Hey, are you guys still coming to the club tonight?" Kate's face lit up with a smile as she read the message.

She quickly typed out a reply, her thumbs flying across the screen. "Yeah, we're still coming! Emily's just taking a bath, it looks like she does not remember we're going to the club tonight".

"but we'll be ready around 9 you can come and pick us up with your latest Lamborghini, Can't wait to see you there!" She added a few emojis to the message, including a dancing girl and a cocktail, before hitting send.

Kate put her phone back in her pocket and turned to Emily, who was now walking back into the kitchen, looking refreshed after her bath.

"George just texted, he's will be coming to pick us up for the club, We should get ready, we don't want to keep him waiting!" Kate said, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"What oh my I forgot we are clubbing tonight" she said.

"I know for the fact you don't notice my presence here this early" Kate replied with a smile as she sipped a glass of juice she took from the fridge.

"Let me check the time"She quickly went to the sitting room to check the time on the wall clock.

"It's ten minutes past six," she said while nodding in satisfaction.

"Like we have more than enough time to sleep," Kate said as she drank all the juice in the glass.

Kate also took her bath while Emily set an alarm in other not to wake up late.

They both slept till it was eight thirty In the evening.

The alarm blared to life, piercing the quiet of the room. Emily and Kate stirred, groggily opening their eyes.

"Ah, what time is it?" Emily mumbled, rubbing her eyes. Kate yawned, stretching her arms above her head.

"It's 8:30," Emily said, checking the alarm clock. "We should get ready, George will be here soon." Kate nodded, swinging her legs over the side of the bed.

"I'm so excited, I love clubbing!" she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. Emily smiled, getting out of bed. "Me too, let's get ready!" The two friends hurriedly got dressed, doing their hair and makeup in record time.

Emily wore a stunning red dress that hugged her curves in all the right places. The dress was made of a sleek, velvety material that caught the light as she moved.

It had a high neckline and long sleeves, but the real showstopper was the daring thigh-high slit on one side. Emily's legs looked endless in her high heels, and the dress showcased her toned physique perfectly.

Kate, on the other hand, opted for a playful, sparkly number that was perfect for a night out on the town. Her dress was a mesmerising blend of purple and blue hues, with intricate sequins that caught the light and made her shine like a disco ball.

The dress was short and flirty, with a daring cut-out detail on the chest and a flowy, tutu-like skirt that made her look like a ballerina.

Kate's hair was styled in loose, bouncy waves, and her makeup was bold and bright, with a focus on her signature cat-eye liner.

As they finished up, the doorbell rang. "That must be George!" Kate exclaimed, rushing to answer the door.

Emily followed close behind, feeling a thrill of excitement. They opened the door to find George standing there, looking dashing in his black shirt and jeans.

"Hey, girls! You look amazing!" he said, his eyes scanning them appreciatively. "Thanks, George! You don't look so bad yourself," Kate replied, winking at him. Emily rolled her eyes good-natured.

"Let's go, we don't want to be late!" she said, grabbing her purse.

As they left the house, Emily and Kate made sure to lock the door behind them. They walked to George's car, which was parked in front of the house.

George had brought his brand new Lamborghini, and the girls couldn't help but admire it.

The car was a sleek black colour with a shiny finish. It had a low, sporty design and looked incredibly fast even when it was standing still.

"Wow, George, this car is amazing!" Emily exclaimed.

"I know, right?" George replied, grinning. "I just got it yesterday."

Kate whistled. "It's so cool! Can we take a closer look?"

George nodded, and the girls walked around the car, admiring its sleek lines and sporty design. They praised George's taste in cars, and he beamed with pride.

As they got into the car, Emily couldn't help but notice how comfortable and luxurious the interior was. The seats were soft and leather-bound, and the dashboard was equipped with all sorts of fancy gadgets.

"This car is incredible," Emily said, buckling her seatbelt.

"I'm glad you like it," George replied, starting the engine. "Let's take her for a spin."

With that, George put the car in gear and sped off into the night. The girls squealed with delight as the wind rushed through their hair and the music blasted from the speakers.

They were having the time of their lives, and they knew this was going to be a night to remember.

As they drove, they continued to admire and praise George's car. They talked about its speed, its style, and its luxurious features. George was happy to share his knowledge of the car with them, and they listened with wide eyes.

After a while, they arrived at the club, and George parked the car in a VIP spot. The girls got out, still admiring the car and thanking George for the ride.

"That was so much fun!" Emily exclaimed.

"Definitely," Kate agreed. "Let's do it again sometime."

George grinned. "Anytime, girls. Anytime."

"Let's check-in," Kate said in excitement since she couldn't wait to rock the club tonight.
