CHAPTER 15

As Emily pulled out of the parking lot and drove off. The dinner date with Max had been everything she had hoped for and more. She couldn't believe how much they had connected, how easy it was to talk to him, and how much she enjoyed his company. As she drove home, she noticed that the main road was a little bit empty, a testament to the late hour. The clock on her dashboard read 10:00 PM, and the streets were quiet, save for the occasional passing car. The darkness of the night was illuminated only by the streetlights, casting a warm glow over the deserted road. Emily felt a sense of peace settle over her as she drove, the silence of the night broken only by the soft hum of her engine. She thought back to the dinner date, replaying the conversations they had, the laughter they shared, and the way Max made her feel. She couldn't help but smile as she remembered the way he looked at her, the way he listened to her and the way he made her feel like she was the only person in the world. As she turned onto her street, Emily noticed that the houses were all dark, their occupants tucked away in bed. She felt a sense of solitude, but it wasn't an uncomfortable feeling. Instead, it was a reminder that she had the night to herself, to reflect on the events of the evening and savour the memories of her time with Max. She pulled into her driveway, turned off the engine, and sat in silence for a moment, collecting her thoughts. "Mitcheeew him". With a contented sigh, Emily stepped out of the car, locked the door, and walked towards her front door. She reached out to unlock her door, but just as she inserted the key into the lock, her phone suddenly rang, breaking the silence of the night. Ding!! Ding!! Her phone rang. "Who could be calling at this time of The day" Emily smiled, wondering who could be calling her at this late hour. She pulled out her phone and bag and looked at the screen, her heart skipping a beat as she saw Max's name flashing on the display. She couldn't help but feel a flutter in her chest as she answered the call. "Hey," Max's voice was warm and familiar on the other end of the line. "I just wanted to make sure you got home safely." Emily smiled, feeling a sense of delight at the concern in his voice. "I just pulled into my driveway," she said, unlocking her door and stepping inside. "Thanks for checking in on me." "I couldn't help it," Max said, his voice low and husky. "I had an amazing time tonight, and I couldn't stop thinking about you." Emily's heart skipped a beat as she heard the sincerity in his voice. She felt a sense of connection to him, a sense of belonging that she had never felt before. "I had an amazing time too," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I couldn't stop thinking about you either." There was a pause on the other end of the line, and for a moment, Emily wondered if she had said too much. But then Max spoke, his voice filled with emotion. "I'm so glad I met you, Emily," he said. "I feel like I've known you my whole life." Emily's heart melted at his words, and she knew at that moment that she felt the same way. "I know exactly what you mean," she said, her voice filled with emotion. As they talked, Emily and Max both knew that they had to say goodbye, but they didn't want the night to end. They lingered on the phone, savouring the moment, until finally, Max spoke up. "I should let you get some rest," he said, his voice filled with reluctance. "You have a big day tomorrow." "Yeah," Emily agreed, feeling a pang of disappointment. "I do." "Okay, well, I'll let you go then," Max said. "But can I call you tomorrow?" "Of course," Emily replied, smiling. "I'd like that." "Great," Max said. "I'll talk to you tomorrow then. Goodnight, Emily." "Goodnight, Max," Emily replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "Good night and sleep tight my Angel," Max said "I love you" he smiled "I love you too Max!! Emily replied, "Take good care of yourself" 'I will bye".Max said as he hung up the phone. As they hung up the phone, Emily felt a sense of contentment wash over her. She knew that she had found someone special in Max, someone who truly understood her. With a happy sigh, Emily locked her door and headed to the bathroom to start her bedtime routine. She ran a warm bath, adding some calming essential oils to the water, and then slipped in, feeling the tension melt away from her body. As she soaked in the bath, Emily couldn't help but think about Max and their conversation. She felt a sense of excitement and nervousness about what the future held for them. After her bath, Emily got out and dried off, feeling relaxed and calm. She slipped into bed, feeling grateful for the amazing day she had just had. But for now, she just smiled, feeling happy and content, knowing that she had found someone special in Max. As Emily slipped into bed, she felt a sense of relaxation wash over her. She snuggled under the blankets, feeling the softness of her pillow and the comfort of her mattress. She closed her eyes, letting out a contented sigh as she thought about Max and their conversation. As she drifted off to sleep, Emily felt her body relax, her muscles releasing all the tension of the day. She slept soundly, her mind filled with dreams of Max and their future together. The next morning, Emily's alarm blared to life at 6:30 am, jolting her awake. She groggily reached over to turn it off, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. She sat up in bed, stretching her arms and yawning widely. As she swung her legs over the side of the bed, Emily felt a sense of excitement and nervousness about the day ahead. She had a big day at work. She got out of bed and began her morning routine, brushing her teeth and washing her face. She got dressed in a professional outfit, feeling confident and capable. As she headed to the kitchen to start her day with a cup of coffee, Emily couldn't help but think about Max and their conversation the night before. With her coffee in hand, Emily sat down at her kitchen table, checking her phone for any messages from Max. She smiled as she saw a good morning text from him, With a happy sigh, Emily took a sip of her coffee, feeling ready to take on the day ahead. "Today is indeed a great day" Emily smiled in satisfaction as she drank all her coffee at once.
