Jessica pressed her hand firmly against my neck. Taking the place of my own hand. Feeling the weakness spread through my whole body.
“Matis, get over here!” Jessica snapped.
Matis was by her side a moment later. Never questioning why, she needed him or what she told him to do. Jessica let go of my neck, while Matis applied pressure in her place. I tried to keep my eyes focused as I watched Jessica pace the floor. I had never seen her so agitated before. She had a phone pressed to her ear but bit her nails frantically.
