I stepped back as I tried to see their face, but I couldn’t make out who it was. However, the man seemed familiar and I noticed him looking at me as though he knew me too.
“I am so sorry, I have a bad habit of not paying attention to where I am going,” I said bashfully.
“Please the apology is mine to give, I wasn’t looking where I was going either,” the man said tucking thick brown hair behind his ear. “I don’t mean to rude any further, but have we met before?”
The man had a richness to his voice that I couldn’t place, but this sense was puzzling me, as it did the day before.
“I am sorry I would like to say yes, but I don’t think we have.”
I tried to study the man, but it was hard to place him. I turned my head to the side a bit. As if that were going to clear everything up.
