"Snap out of it!" I said snapping my fingers in front of the school.
He chuckled shaking his head. "Sorry, just thinking."
"Well, that's new." I joked.
"Shut up. Let's go everyone is waiting." He said taking my bag onto his shoulder and pushing me out of the room.
"What's the rush." I asked.
"If you want your dose of coffee then get moving." He said.
"Sheesh, so pushy this morning and I didn't even wake you up."
"Just move it." He said rolling his eyes at me.
I walked ahead of him into the kitchen. Everyone was there and I mean everyone. Ava, Nolan, Kayden, Kylee, Liam, Ally and Austin. Okay so not everyone since Jaxson wasn't here but that's still everyone to me. Together we all headed out and to the coffee shop. This was really becoming a morning ritual. Back at home it was Starbucks, but you've got to take what you get. It's a good thing that this place was good cause I couldn't make coffee to save my life. Once we all had what we wanted we headed off to main hall.
I still needed some stuff from my locker, so I headed that way first. The only other one's to come with me were Lee and Liam. They were in their own little couples' world. I opened up my locker and a folded piece of paper floated out. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion and bent to pick it up.
In neat handwriting the note read:
'Favorite food is anything that can be cooked under 5 minutes.'
I laughed softly as I read and re-read the note because it was true and I knew who placed the note in my locker, Jaxson. I put the note in my bag and grabbed out the books that I needed for my morning classes. Another note slipped from the pages of my book, and I read it.
'I know I have a lot of making up for. Meet me under the tree to the left of the training field at lunch. Don't worry about getting food beforehand, I've got it covered.
Shaking my head, I closed my locker and continued to my first class. My morning classes went by faster than I thought it would. I was walking to lunch with Max when I remembered I was supposed to meet Jaxson. I excused myself and walked off to the training field. Walking over to the tree I watched as Jaxson paced back and forth. It almost looked like he wasn't sure if I would come or not. Heck, I wasn't sure if I was coming or not, yet here I am.
"Got your note." I said leaning against the tree.
"You came?" He asked clearly shocked.
"Obviously." I nodded.
"I didn't think you'd show up." He admitted sheepishly.
"I can tell. So, what's for lunch?" I asked taking a seat on the grass. There was a picnic basket a few feet away.
"Lunch, right." He said.
"You did bring food, right? Not just an empty basket." I joked trying to get rid of the awkard atmosphere.
"Yeah, yeah." He said pulling the basket in front of me. "I didn't know what you wanted so I got a bit of everything."
"Okay, lets' see what you got." I said opening the basket.
There were different types of sandwiches, fruit, drinks and snacks. I didn't bother looking through them all I just pulled out one of each and a bottle of water. Jaxson did the exact same. We ate in silence for the first couple of hours.
"So, how'd you pull all of this together?" I asked gesturing to the basket.
"I had some help." He admitted.
"Your help wouldn't happen to go by the names Avery and Kylee, would they?" I asked.
"Yes, and Ally too. Maybe even a little help from the guys." He said looking a bit embarrassed.
"Guys? As in my guys or yours?" I asked.
"Both, though mine did give me nonsense about going soft." He said.
"I'm sorry." I blurted out.
He looked taken back by my sudden outburst. "For what?"
"For what happened in the lunchroom the other with Max." I said.
"You have nothing to apologize for, you've caught me more than once with Sarah." He said, "I must say it did make me jealous though."
"I know, and it wasn't my idea, and my friends are idiots." I laughed a bit.
"Eh." He shrugged "I deserved it."
We made a bunch of meaningless small talk during the rest of our lunch period. There was still 5 minutes of lunch, so I helped Jaxson pack up everything and threw away the trash. Once we were done, we headed back to the school.
"Thanks for lunch." I said, no one has ever gone this far out for me before; it surprised me that he had.
"You're welcome. It's the least I could do." He spoke.
"How much did my friends tell you about me?" I asked; it totally slipped my mind that I was supposed to talk to the girls about that the other day.
"Everything." He replied.
"Everything?"
"Yup, everything." He nodded.
"Oh, joy!" I said sarcastically.
"Can I walk you to class?" He asked hesitantly.
"Sure." I agreed, "Although, it's not actually walking me to class as you're in it as well." I pointed out.
"Okay, then can I walk with you to class."
"Fine by me."
The walk to Creative Writing was silent. I thought it would have been silent, but no it's very calming. It was actually nice. Halfway through to class Sarah walked out in front of us. Her eyes zeroed out on the basket that Jaxson was carrying. Will I ever get a break with this girl?
"Hey baby, I missed you at lunch." She purred reaching up for a kiss, but he dodged.
"I told you it was over." He sighed running a hand through his hair. "I meant it Sarah, we are done. Over. Finished."
"For what?" She hissed "Her!?" She turned a glare in my direction, and I raised my eyebrow; did she really want to this right now again?
"Yes, for her. My mate." He said to her.
"She's not your mate! I AM!" She hissed out.
I scoffed "You really are delusional."
"What did you just say." She spat; I guess she did want to do this again.
