Denver chuckles, seeing the exchange between Charlotte and possibly her friends. The room was practically packed with the remaining seats next to Charlotte's friends. He saw it as an opportunity to get to know Charlotte through them.
"So you guys know Charlotte, huh?"
James looked at the guy indifferently, wondering why he was asking about his girlfriend.
"Yeah, why?" Charles, who sat next to the new guy, answered.
"She's cute, don't you think?"
The two guys looked at each other, both hinting laughter in their eyes.
"What? I mean, I know other guys think she's mean and evil, but damn, she's ho-"
"Oh, don't you even finish that sentence, man," James whispered intently, his eyes starting to blur with fury.
"What? I know the guy she used to date. It's cool, I don't plan on disrespecting her or that guy."
The smirk on James' face vanished. Charles looked at him, chuckling nervously.
"Dude, just shut up," he warns Denver. But Denver was an impulsive child with not much critical thinking to back his actions and words.
"Why? So what if other people think she's mean and a little bench? I still like her. I'd probably ask her out sometime," he continues nonchalantly, calling for his death.
"Oh, well, aren't you a gossiping little bench?" James couldn't hold back his anger. This puny, tiny creature was badmouthing his own girlfriend in front of him. It wasn't much about what he said, but how he said it. He was willing to take carp for himself, but not his friends, especially not about Lottie.
Denver was taken aback by the rude awakening James set on him and was about to stand up against the guy, but fortunately, the teacher arrived before a fist fight could occur.
"I'm Mr. Ryans and I will be teaching you Logic and Critical Thinking."
"I just wanted to tell you, we're her friends, and she's dating this guy. So, next time you want to badmouth someone? Think about who you're talking about them with, you cant."
"I'm sorry, Charles, was it? I didn't know you were that close friends," Denver apologizes. His ego wasn't as boosted as Adrian's was, that's for sure.
"Yeah, and she's dating this guy," Charles spits out, pointing at James, who refused to acknowledge the presence of the ignorant being who sat next to them. He was not worth it. Besides, Charlotte would just laugh at his face later if he got into a fight with a mongrel.
He noticed Charlotte sneaking a peek at them every once in a while, but his head was too hot to give her his signature grin.
