Leaving the monorail with Jules, Jodi felt like a leaf being dragged along in a strong wind. “I’ll take you to my favourite spot in all of Anphobos,” he told her.
Jodi nearly laughed at the way he made “all of Anphobos” sound so large. While the colony was bigger and more beautiful than she had first imagined, it was hardly a country. And then she stopped. Jules had led her all the way along an elevated footpath that ran over the monorail station like an overpass. They walked next to tree tops and into a carefully shrouded viewing post.
“Just look.” Jules stepped aside and waved an arm to encourage her. “Tell me what you see.”
Goosebumps developed on Jodi’s arms and a shiver ran down her spine. She stepped around him to stand at the very edge of the lookout on her own.
