Grey Remington and his legal wife

/Valeri’s POV/ I further open the door to get a clearer picture of what is going on in the room and I realize that the person Grey is having such a heated conversation with is Madison, his friend who has been staying with us for a while now. “I told you already that I have my plans so why the f**k are you meddling and putting me through unnecessary stress?” My husband raises his voice at her, his gaze so sharp that sends shivers down my spine. “What other plans do you have Grey?” She questions poking him in his chest. “You wanted to crumple the Donalds to give them a beautiful taste of what it feels like to be betrayed by someone they trusted more than anything in the world and you did that, you took over Donald’s hard work and crumpled it like it a used piece of paper in a matter of months and you did that, ” she starts to narrate and I hold on to the door like my life depends on this because if my family is the same ‘Donald’ that she just talked about then it is over for me. “What other plans do you have up your sleeve and why exactly is keeping that pregnant liability in this house so important to you,” she says making Grey's piercing blue eyes spark in her direction. “Stay out of my business Madison,” He warns her sternly, pointing his fingers at her but retracting it almost immediately. “I can't stay out of ‘your business’ because this is not just your business, it is our business,” she talks back at him instead of cowering in fear. “What I find difficult to understand is why you went as far as getting attached to your chess piece to the point that you got her pregnant because if I remember clearly, that was not part of the plan at all,” she points out. “Madison!!” Grey screams and I open the door widely because there are still a whole lot of missing links from the little conversation that I was able to eavesdrop on but I just don’t have the patience to keep eavesdropping because I need to know if my family is the same ‘Donald’ whose family business was destroyed and crumpled like a used piece of paper by Grey Remington. “I guess your chess piece has eavesdropped on our whole conversation, so it should be easier for you to come out to the horrible things that you have done,” she says as she walks out of the study. “I can explain,” Grey says as he draws closer to me but I stop him because his explanation is not what I want, all I want right now is answers to the questions that I ask. “What was she talking about?” I ask Grey and he averts my gaze as if my gaze was burning him. “Did you have anything to do with my parents’ company being on the verge of going bankrupt?” I ask him again and this time around he tries to part his lips to say something, but no words from him. “Wow!” I exclaim in surprise “So, this…” I start, taking off my wedding band and throwing it in his face. “Was all part of the plan?” I continue with disgust evident in the tone of my voice. “Making me fall for you and trust you as part of your plan, but this baby wasn’t,” I scoff while trying so hard to stop the tears that are streaming down from my cheeks from falling “I know you want answers right now, but I need to take this phone call,” Grey says waving his phone and stepping aside to take his phone call while I stand there looking at him with a mixture of shock, anger, confusion, and hatred. Grey's countenance changes from picking up the call and before I can say anything, he dashes out of the room leaving me standing without offering answers to any of the numerous questions racing in my mind. “Are you leaving me here without answering any of my questions,” I call out as I rush after him but he doesn’t stop so I double my pace in running after him as he raced down the stairs. “Grey…… please stop,” I plead desperately because contrary to the conversation that I just heard, I am ready to believe him and take his word for it if he just tells me that Madison is lying. “I can't hear something of that magnitude and not have so many questions on my mind so can you just stop and allow us to deal with this as a couple?” I cal out to him again on getting to the front of the house but he is nowhere in sight. “I promise to give you the answers that you need when I come back, but right now there is something of extreme importance…….more like a matter of life and death that I have to deal with and it can’t wait, but whatever it is that you want to ask me can wait and I promise to answer every one of your questions truthfully when I am back,” Grey says momentarily stopping his car in front of me and rolling the glass down before zooming away without waiting for my reply. “If I were you, I wouldn’t wait for an answer from Grey,” Madison pops out of nowhere and says with her breath fanning the nape of my neck. “Grey has no reasonable explanation for you which is why he walked out and drove away,” she says as I turn to face her. “What right do you have to meddle in my family matters as an outsider?” I lash at her angrily because the anger in me is multiplying at the moment. “It will interest you to know that you are the outsider here, not me,” Madison says, confusing me as I bat my eyelids in shock and utter confusion as if it was going to blink the confusion away. “I am legally married to Grey Remington and for what it is worth, my position is not to be compared with that of an ordinary family friend like you who came to our house to seek refuge,” I remind her in case she has forgotten about her identity but instead of her to be docile and mind her business, she comes for me and pins my neck to the wall. “ouch,” I yell in pain as her black stiletto nails press the skin around my neck, making me wince in pain. “Grey Remington has only one legal wife, and that is me, Madison Remington,” she says and the alarm in my head suddenly goes off. “Grey only married you to further his revenge mission but it will interest you to know that your marriage to Grey Remington is null and void because the only thing between you both is a marriage contract that I can rip off in a matter of seconds,” she says and I struggle to find my balance because she is right Grey and I only signed a marriage contract. “Do you want further proof that Grey only married you because he needed a proper chess piece to use in dealing with the Donalds?” She inquires and I shake my head because it is just hard to believe that all the love and attention that my husband showered on me over the past year is a massive Joke. “How dare you,” Madison says, pushing me with so much force that I struggle for balance, but I miss my step on the mini stairs connecting the front of the mansion to the space that opens into the garden and the seining pool and with a loud crash my head collides with the ceramic flower pot that was used to pave way into the garden. “Argh!” I groan in pain as my head starts to spin from the impact of my fall. My chest starts to construct and I can feel my breathing becoming ragged as the world around me starts to spin very fast. I try not to panic even though I can feel blood trickling down my head, but worse still I can feel my panties starting to get soaked as fluid starts to trail down my legs. I am in so much pain and I expect Madison to at least try to help me since I lost my balance because of her, but she just stood there without lifting a finger to help me. I try to be strong for my baby and home on with everything that is in me, but it feels like I am drowning and I can barely hold on. I feel wronged, angry, and painful but mostly, I feel defeated. “All my life, I tried to be accepted and seen as someone much more than my father’s docile dog after being forced to marry Grey Remington, and for some reason, he was not as cold and cruel to me as father was In my twisted mind, I thought I had been able to turn my lifeless marriage into a home where I could raise my kids and give them all the love that I didn’t get to have as a kid, but little did I know that I will die untimely in the hands of Grey Remington and his legal wife. If I am allowed to avenge all the injustice that I have suffered, I will surely get my revenge on Grey Remington and his legal wife for the cruel fate that I had to endure. “Hey, wake up,” I hear somebody calling out to me and shaking me vigorously, but I don’t know why I can’t just stop staring at my lifeless body
