Chapter 1

Bella was checking out her wedding gown in the dressing room the moment the maid was done helping her by putting it on. She smiled happily, admiring herself in the mirror. Reaching for her phone, Bella quickly took a photo and sent it to her fiancé. “I think Ethan will like this,” she whispered, her lips curving into a grin. Suddenly, the door flung open and someone rushed inside. Bella turned sharply, fear rising in her chest. A strange man stood before her, tall, broad-shouldered, and with piercing eyes that burned with urgency. Before she could scream, he was already at her side, his hand clamping over her mouth. “Shh! Stay quiet. I won’t hurt you,” he murmured in a low voice. Her heart pounded wildly, but before she could react further, the sound of heavy footsteps echoed in the hallway. A group of armed men were searching, their voices barking orders as they drew closer. The door creaked open again. One of the men entered, pointing his gun forward. In a sudden, desperate move, the stranger grabbed Bella and pressed his lips against hers. “Jeez, get a room,” the armed man muttered, rolling his eyes before leaving the doorway. As soon as he was gone, Bella shoved the stranger away with all her strength. Her hand flew across his face in a sharp slap. “How dare you!” she snapped, her voice shaking with anger. But before she could say more, he staggered. His body crumpled, falling against her legs. Bella’s eyes widened as she noticed blood spreading across his shirt. Kneeling quickly, she pulled at his clothes and gasped. “Oh my God, you’re bleeding!” A silver bullet glistened in the wound, the skin around it burned with wolfbane. Panic rushed through her. She reached out instinctively to help, but his hand shot up, gripping her wrist. “Don’t touch me,” he growled through clenched teeth. Bella froze, her gaze locked with his. But her determination hardened as she shook her head. “You’ve been shot with a silver bullet. It’s covered in wolfbane. If it’s not removed immediately, it could kill you.” For a moment, he said nothing. Then, with a pained breath, he slowly released her hand. Bella swallowed hard and leaned closer, whispering softly, “It’s going to hurt.” He kept his eyes fixed on her face, watching every expression as she worked. Bella carefully removed the bullet, her hands trembling but steady enough to get it out. Blood seeped faster, but she quickly tore off her wedding hair cover and used it to tie around his wound. “We still need to get you to a hospital quickly,” she said firmly, pressing on the makeshift bandage. Just as she was tightening the cloth, a red glow surrounded them both. The light shimmered, circling like a flame that only he could sense. His eyes widened in disbelief. Is she… my mate? The glow burned brighter, his wolf howling inside him. But Bella didn’t notice, too focused on what she was doing. My love… I finally found you, his wolf surging forward. His instincts took over, and before he could stop himself, he pulled her close and pressed his lips against hers. His kiss was desperate, claiming, filled with a fire he could no longer suppress. For a moment, she froze under his touch, then struggled, forcing herself to pull back. Bella slapped him hard across the face, her voice trembling with fury. “You’re insane! I already found my mate, and I’m marrying him soon.” She pushed herself up and stormed out of the room. Dominic’s eyes followed her retreating steps, confusion swirling inside him. Why can’t she feel our bond? Just then, his men rushed into the room and lifted him up carefully. “Alpha Dominic, we need to get you to the hospital,” one of them urged. But Dominic shook his head, determination burning in his gaze. “I need to find my mate first,” he replied firmly. Another warrior stepped forward. “Alpha, we have captured the traitors who ambushed you. Should we kill them?” “No,” Dominic said sharply. “I’m not like your former Alpha. Banish the traitors. Let them rot like rogue wolves.” The warrior nodded and they left. In Bella's house, her father Justin Walker sat alone in the living room, holding a framed photo of his late wife. His eyes were clouded with sorrow. “Since the Blue Moon pack killed you, my Luna, it’s been five years,” he whispered. Bella entered quietly, her steps soft as she approached. She took the photo gently from her father's hand. “I miss her too, Dad,” Bella said, her voice cracking. “It didn’t have to be Mum. If only I had my wolf… I could’ve been the one protecting our pack.” Justin reached out and held her hand tightly. “Oh, it’s not your fault, Bella,” he said firmly. “But you are the best healer we ever had.” A small smile touched her lips. “Thanks, Dad.” Their moment was interrupted by the sudden voice of the pack’s beta, who hurried inside. “Alpha Justin, the leader of the Blue Moon pack is here.” Justin’s face darkened instantly. “Tell him to f**k off!” he roared. The beta hesitated, then lowered his head. “He’s the world’s strongest warrior. We can’t afford to provoke him.” Bella placed a hand on her father’s arm. “Dad, let’s see what he wants.” Together, they walked outside. Cars pulled up at the gates, sleek and intimidating. When the guards opened the car door, a tall man stepped out. Bella’s heart skipped a beat. It was the stranger she saved, the man she wished never to meet again. Her breath caught, but she forced her expression into calm neutrality, hiding every flicker of recognition. Alpha Dominic walked toward them with quiet authority. His men followed, carrying large boxes. When they opened them, gold coins, jewels, and stacks of money glimmered in the sunlight. Bella and her father exchanged a silent glance, saying nothing. Dominic’s deep voice carried across the yard. “I’m Dominic Crawford, the new Alpha of the Blue Moon pack. It’s a pleasure seeing you again.” Justin’s eyes narrowed. “What do you want?” One of Dominic’s men bristled, stepping forward. “Watch your attitude, you old…” Dominic raised a hand sharply, cutting him off. “I told you, I don’t operate like the previous Alpha.” His gaze shifted back to Justin. “Let’s keep it simple. I’m here to claim my mate. Bella Walker.” Justin’s face turned red with rage. “My daughter can’t be your mate!” “But she is,” Dominic answered calmly, his tone carrying unshakable certainty. “And I want your blessing to marry her, to make her Luna of the Blue Moon pack.” “You arrogant piece of s**t!” Justin roared. “You think you can show up here and just take my daughter away?” Dominic’s eyes hardened. “Let me rephrase, sir. I’m trying to be respectful here.” He reached out, taking Bella’s hand in his, his eyes locking onto hers with an intensity that made her chest tighten. “I’ll marry her,” Dominic vowed quietly, but firmly, “with or without your blessing.” “Let me go, I’ll never marry you,” Bella said, jerking her hand away. “How about we all calm down?” Justin’s beta interrupted, trying to ease the rising tension. “Alpha Dominic is our guest, after all. Let’s take it inside and talk it out.” Alpha Justin, Bella’s father, glared with anger burning in his eyes. “There’s nothing to talk about!” he snapped before turning and storming into the house. Dominic followed silently, his men and Justin’s guests trailing behind. Inside, the atmosphere grew heavier. Justin’s fists clenched as his voice thundered. “Alpha Dominic, let me remind your weak memory. Five years ago, your pack attacked my pack and killed my wife!”
