Lucy's POV First thing I noticed was that weird, sharp hospital smell. Disinfectant. Then the beeping. That slow, steady beep-beep, like my heart needed a backup singer. My head felt like someone was tap dancing on my skull. The Lights above me was way too bright and it kind of smeared into this blurry mess until I blinked a few times. Eventually, the hospital room snapped into focus. White. Sterile to the point of being offensive. There was someone sitting by the window.
