As I sat at my desk, engrossed in my work, my secretary, Lilac, entered my office. She had a worried look on her face which immediately made me concerned.
"What's the matter, Lilac?" I asked her, my heart racing with apprehension.
"Stella, I just heard some news about the Blackford Enterprise. It does not look good," she replied in a low voice.
"What kind of news?" I asked her, feeling a knot form in my stomach.
"The word around the office is that Aaron is facing some problems with the company. The election for the President of the company is coming up and some of the board members are not happy with him," she told me, her voice barely above a whisper.
