Aaron POV
"Why would I work for Elijah? What benefit would that bring me?" she questioned me.
"She thinks that I am a fool who can't see through her lame and old tricks" my subconsciousness laughed at her stupidity.
"How would I know, a gold digger can do anything as long as she gets what she wants" I insulted her so that she can back off as I was in no mood to talk to her.
Her face turned red and her grey eyes were full of anger. I knew that this anger was directed toward me but I cared less. Her Tightly clenched fist was ready to attack me. But I knew that she wont.
"That's enough, Aaron! Mind your words or I won't be polite to you" she banged her hand on the table.
I didn't mean to sound this rude but the next words that came out of my mouth could have left me with a dirty suit with coffee thrown on it.
"Ohh, so you still have a sense of integrity in you! I thought that you sold all of it" I laughed out loud. She was the same as the rest of the gold diggers. No matter how much I insulted her, she didn't back off.
"You will regret it, Aaron Blackford!" her voice was thick with anger. I could sense a wave of power in her tone. It was like as if she meant every word of it.
Even I started to doubt my decision of publically humiliating her. But I had to do it to show my strength to Elijah. I wanted to tell him that no woman can come in between my way of success. So I pretended like I don't give a f**k about her.
"Trust me, I won't! Go and tell Elijah that I won't fall for his lousy tricks. Now leave, I don't have time for your loose Virginia!" I used my last card and picked up my laptop from the left side. I was about to turn it on when she spoke up again.
"You are here to meet Stella, right?" she looked at me.
"b***h! She is informative!" I thought as my hands clenched into a fist.
"None of your concern! Are you leaving or should I call security to escort you out of my sight?" I glared at her and then started typing on my laptop ignoring her presence. I wanted to get rid of her soon as Stella would soon arrive. I didn't want her to misunderstand anything.
"It is my concern as long as I am Stella Blade!" she spoke with full confidence.
My hand stilled on the keyboard and my eyes stuck on the screen. I felt that the ground disappeared from under my feet. My body grew cold as if someone suddenly threw me inmost the coldest part of Antarctica. I didn't even dare to look at her. Then suddenly I saw a slim hope of survival from the upcoming embarrassment. I resumed my work as if nothing happened. After collecting myself I spoke up
"What game are you playing now? Do you think that I will believe in you?" I laughed to sound her off.
Internally, I wished someone magical force would come and reverse the time. Or Sera would be kidding. I prayed that she would not be Stella or I didn't know how to face her. I would be too embarrassed to even look at her.
I saw how she grabbed her bag in anger, pulled out her ID card, and put it in front of me.
"Now you believe in me" if looks could kill then I would be six feet under the ground.
With shaking hands I picked it up and went through it. I could bet that my face was getting pale with every passing second. My mind was refusing to acknowledge the fact she was Stella. The one I insulted publicly. I then looked up at her. I didn't know what to say anymore. I was even ashamed to meet her eyes.
"You called her a gold digger, a slut, and all those mean words. How will you compensate for it? "She is uncle Eban'a only daughter. If he gets the whiff of it then he and my father, both will skin me alive. Also, She must hate you to the guts right now!" my subconsciousness mocked at me.
It was like my mouth had a mind of its own. It opened up to speak on its own accord.
"ID........ Can be.........fake!" I tried to sound confident but failed. Judging from her smirk, I instantly regretted my words. She knew that she had caught me. I was under her mercy.
"You broke your father's blue porcelain vase that was worth three million dollars and then buried it in the backyard. The blame was shifted on Elijah" she smirked again.
"You swore to never speak about it!" I instantly pointed my index finger at her as the words flowed from my mouth.
"I told you that you will regret it!" she said indicating the previous insults. I sighed and put my hand back on the table.
"I regret it, I swear I do," I thought as guilt clouded my mind.
I wanted to dig a hole in the ground and bury myself. I was regretting my choice of words. In condemnation, I gripped my hair with both hands and looked down at the floor. It took me a lot of effort to collect the courage to speak up.
"I am sorry! I really am, if I knew you were Sera, I would never have said those dirty words. You should have told me at the beginning" I looked at her with regretful eyes.
"So are you trying to shift the whole blame at me? Let me tell you, Aaron Blackford, I Stella Blade will never forget today's insult. I will make you regret it!" She grabbed her that was in front of me and got up to take the leave.
"Wait, Stella listen to me." I instantly grabbed her hand and forced her to sit in front of me.
If it were someone else, I wouldn't even spare a glance back no matter whether I was right or wrong but she was Stella. I did not know why I had a soft spot for her in my heart. She was special!
"What do you wanna say now? Do you wanna add more fuel to the burning fire? Listen to me Aaron Blackford I am not like your regular sluts, I am Stella Blade. Do you think that a mere sorry will let you off the hook? Then you are very wrong about this" her breathing was uneven from anger. I felt like I was breathing my last moments. She would get up anytime and skin me alive for lunch.
"Tell me how will you forgive me? I can agree to any request of yours. Just name it" I looked at her with pleading eyes.
Her eyes suddenly shined at my words. I could see as the small corners of her mouth were begging her to smile. I finally saw a ray of hope for my survival.
"Any condition? Are you sure?" she eyed me for confirmation.
"Yes, any conditions, as long as I can fulfill it within my capabilities" I confirmed with her.
"Then I have one request that requires your approval" she put her hands on the table and got into business mode.
