Avenge(Tony Stark x reader)

A/n: Thought of adding a bit of humour in this one. Well, initially.
"Being the survivor and watching all the others die, that is much worse than actually dying."
"Marry me, (y/n)?" Tony said as he fought off Thanos.
"What?" She asked, not sure that Tony is asking that right now.
"You heard me right. Marry me, (y/n)."
"But... Our marriage is in just a few days!" She said, dodging Thanos' attack.
"And you think that we might survive this time after what Quill did?"
Peter Quill, had let his emotions get the best of him and punched Thanos when he revealed that he had killed Gamora. That action of Quill, broke off Mantis' control over Thanos and so, Tony and Peter didn't succeed in getting the Infinity Gauntlet off the mad titan's hand-
"Hey!" Quill protested.
And now, they are doomed.
"Besides, Strange here, already told that out of that many timelines, we win only once. What if this isnt that one?" Tony said, blasting Thanos with his repulsive blasters.
"Why so pessimistic, Stark?" Quill asked, launching a few attacks on Thanos.
"What's your answer, (y/n)!" Tony said, dodging a big boulder of rock thrown his way.
"Dr. Strange! Marry us!"
"I might be a bit busy here right now."
"Just do it, Strange!" Tony said.
"Everyone, gathered here, are about to witness a marrige to be held, in between the fight to save the Universe."
"Do you, (y/n) (l/n), take me, Tony Stark, to be your husband?"
"I do!"
"Great!" Tony said with a smirk.
"Do you, Tony Stark, take me, (y/n) (l/n), to be your wife?"
"I do."
"You may kiss the bride, Tony!" Strange declared as he tried to keep Thanos busy.
Tony pulled (y/n) close to him, both of them flying mid air, in their suits, their face plates off. But just as they was about to seal their fate, by a lip lock, a moon was thrown their way!
"You throw another Moon at me and I am gonna lose it!" Tony said. He and (y/n) separated to dodge the Moon thrown their way.
"Just kiss!" Dr. Strange said while he himself dodged from the fire due to the sheer force of the Moon being thrown their way.
Tony caught (y/n)'s hand and pulled her towards him, his suited hand on her cheek and they were about to kiss again when another thing was thrown their way.
"Just do it! Kiss!" Quill said, trying to distract Thanos from interrupting them.
And as soon as Tony and (y/n) dodged the last attack, they pulled each other closer and pressed their lips together. (Y/n)'s arms went around Tony's neck, his arms around her waist and the repulsive blasters on their feet supporting them as they kissed while in mid air.
"Aww! That's cute." Mantis said.
"Now, I declare you both husband and wife!" Dr. Strange finally said after their kiss ended.
"This surely is the most epic marriage I've ever witnessed. On a deserted planet, with a mad Titan hot on our tail," Quill said.
The fight hadn't stopped yet they talked as though they were on for a stroll at the park.
"Woah! I... I... I just witnessed a Stark marriage! This.. this is so amazing!" Peter Parker said, trying to defend himself from Thanos' blows.
"Yeah, feel blessed, kid." Tony said, flying over to Thanos. Now he is gonna regret throwing a freakin' moon at Tony.
"Ahh, Love! It's always fun to see the lovebirds die." And that's when it started going downhill for the heroes. Thanos caught a hold of (y/n) and slammed her down on the ground, hard.
"Noo!" Tony let out a shout and charged at Thanos. Tony got out his blade, aiming to harm Thanos but that big purple bastard broke off the blade and stabbed Tony with it.
"I... I told you, (y/n), you shouldn't have come..." Tony gasped out as she was slammed down on a rock, the rock breaking to pieces due to the pressure Thanos applied.
Flashback~
"What the hell are you doing in this alien spaceship, (y/n)?!" Tony asked. First Peter and now (y/n) too. Great. Just great. Why does all the people he care for are bent up on getting killed?
"If you thought that I was gonna let you venture around on an alien spaceship, all on your own, then you're so very wrong, Tony!" She said.
"And about the suit, I told Friday to send me the suit while you were busy fighting those Squidwards." She continued.
Tony massaged his temples. Great, he is having a mild headache now too.
"Oh, Mrs. (L/n), nice meeting you after such a long time." Peter came upto (y/n) and shook her hand.
"It's nice to meet you too, kid." She replied with a smile.
Flashback end~
"No..." (Y/n) gasped out as she groaned at the pain. Even though inside the suit made by Tony, her body felt like it was run over by a truck, her whole body ached. But she didn't care. All she cared about was the fact that Tony's life was in that big purple bastard's hand. She was much pained to realize that if Thanos wanted, he could kill Tony.
"You have my respect Stark."
(Y/n)'s eyes shot open. Say what? That purple grape bastard respected Tony? Wow.
But then, Thanos said that if Strange doesn't give him the Infinity stone, then he would kill Tony. And he was about to do so.
"No!" (Y/n) cried out in horror. She tried to stand up but failed, the last attack she endured, had weakened her considerably.
But as Thanos was about to kill Tony, Dr. Strange gave Thanos the Time stone.
"Why did you do that?" Tony asked in a low voice. Strange had initially declared that he won't give up the Time stone even if it meant the others' death. So, what made him change his discision?
" We're in the end game, now." Dr. Strange said.
Thanos disappeared as he got the stone.
The heroes were left to taste their defeat. (Y/n) managed to get up on her feet somehow and walked over to Tony, her suit was partially damaged.
Tony pulled out the knife from his abdomen and threw it away.
Nobody uttered a single word. Their only hope lay on the hands of the team on Earth now. If Thanos gets his hands on the mind stone too, then earth is doomed. Not only earth, the while Universe.
"If we can't defend Earth, be sure as hell that we'll avenge it." Tony said with iron determination in his voice.
But after sometime,
"Quill?" Drax spoke up. And then... He disappeared... Or rather, turned into ash.
"Oh, man..." Quill said and he had the same fate as Drax.
Tony looked at Dr. Strange, his gaze speaking for him, asking for an answer.
"Tony, there was no other way." Dr. Strange said as he got erased too.
"I don't feel so good Mr. Stark." Peter Parker said and looked at his hands, he was slowly turning into ash too.
"You're alright." Tony said, his eyes widening. No... Not Peter too...
This.. this can't be happening.
Tony came forward and Peter stumbled into his chest. Tony hugged Peter tightly,
" I don't want to go, please, I don't want to go Mr. Stark. I am sorry, Tony, I am sorry." Peter said his last words and then.... He too, disappeared into thin air, leaving behind only ashes.
Tony stayed in his position, he didn't say a word. He brought his hand upto his face and closed his eyes. In his hand, was the ashes left of the boy who was as close to him as his own ward would be.
A gentle hand was placed on his tensed shoulder and his muscles immediately relaxed. At least he won't have to deal with this alone.
"We'll avenge them, Tony. Thanos will pay." (Y/n) said to Tony. Her words fueling the fire of revenge in his Avenger heart.
