11 I DON’T CARE WHY It’s a bright sunny day, perfect for a drive through the mountains, and though it will be hot, there are puffy clouds and I’m flying high on one of them. Jo called around 7 and we had coffee together right up until she walked into a meeting. Louis wants me to bring the car at 4 pm, which gives me plenty of time with Sarah after the 1 pm Al-Anon meeting. Since today’s trek will probably mean trudging over rough land, I choose jeans, despite the heat, and long socks into which I can tuck the cuffs. I’m still getting ready when there’s a sharp knock on the door, and Darcy squirms under the bed. That must be my guard, Beatrice.
