24 THIS IS INSANE I wake sometime later, feeling better than I ever remember feeling. A goofy smile feels permanent. Judging from the brightness, I’d say it’s nearly noon. My stomach rumbles. I don’t feel Jo and I roll over to confirm her absence, but I smile to see Darcy curled up on her pillow. I stretch experimentally. At the moment, I’m still completely painfree. But I use my usual caution as I get out of bed and pad to the bathroom. I assumed Jo would be in the sitting area, but it appears I am alone in her suite.
