(Melissa pov) The second day in class felt more tensed than the first, like the air itself had decided to sit on my chest and remind me that nothing about my life was normal anymore, and as I walked into class with two guards stationed outside like silent shadows that refused to leave, I could feel the stares, the whispers, the quiet curiosity that followed me even when no one said a word out loud.
