Brooke's P.O.V. ~
"Hey kiddos why don't you go upstairs and get ready for dinner? I have asked the chef to make your second favourite." They squeal and run up stairs. I smile at them then put on my poker face when I face my family.
"You um, you had kids." My dad questions though it sounds more like a statement which I nod my head too.
"What are their names? How old are they? Are the healthy?" Before my mother goes into overload I answer the questions she's already asked.
"Their names are Oscar and Jasmin, their turning six tomorrow and they are both perfectly healthy." She smiles at this. I answer a few more questions about them from different family members until Axel asks the question I thought I would honestly never have to answer.
"Who's are they?" I clench my jaw at the way he refers to them.
"Don't refer to them as if they're anything less then human, and as for who's they are, they're mine." He shakes his head.
"You know that's now what I meant Brooke. Who is their father?" I glare and turn around while saying,
"I think you know who their father is." I then walk up the stairs to my kids rooms. They have a conjoining room but mainly spend their time in the playroom across the hall. I wipe the few tears the fell then smile and ready myself for my kids. I open the door and see them on the floor in deep conversation though once they hear the door open the stop and look up. I go and sit next to them.
"Hey babies, what have I missed in the time I've been gone?" They smile before taking turns in talking about what they did in the week I've been gone. I smile and nod along with everything they say until the bell rings indicating dinner is done. We get up and they keep talking to me as we make our way down. I hold their hands when we go down the stairs and keep a hold of them as we walk into the dinning room. All of my family is seated their already in small groups talking about what I'm sure is me having kids. I clear my throat so they know not to say anything. I walk to my seat and put the twins in their seats before I sit down myself. The table is silent as the maids bring out the food.
"Merci d'avoir choisi la nourriture ce soir maman." I smile and say back a your welcome. For dinner is the twins second favourite meal, as on their birthday they always have their favourite which is my homemade lasagne which is also coincidentally Axel's favourite. But tonight we have tacos. [Translation - Thank you for choosing the food tonight mama."]
I can see that everyone is about to start eating when Jasmine yells at them.
"Hey!" They all turn and look at her when Oscar continues.
"You have to say a prayer first, did your family not teach you any manners? Geez people." I smirk at my kids being so open about them being disrespectful. I hold my hands in front of me in a praying way and my kids follow.
"We all do this. Anyone who eats at this table must be apart of prayer or they miss out the on desert for the next week." I see my family reluctantly get into the same position ready to pray.
"Oscar would you lead us in prayer tonight?" I ask him softly and he nods.
"Dear God, thank you for the food that lays in front of us tonight. We are grateful for the amazing world you have created and thankful for putting us in it. We are blessed enough to live in a big house and have everything gifted to us, but out prayers tonight go to the families struggling to even buy food. Amen." We all repeat 'Amen' then dig into our food. I make small talk with my kids about their home schooling and if their teacher is good and teaching them enough. Every few minutes I gaze over to Axel and see him glaring at his food, probably angry that I had his kids and didn't tell him, or he still thinks their someone else's. I clear my throat loudly gaining everyone's attention.
"Axel, I would like to talk to you in my office after you're finished. I'm leaving now but the twins will escort you there after you're finished. Enjoy your meal." I direct that last part at everyone else. I face the twins.
"You'll stay here when you're finished and once he's finished you will take him to mummy's office on the first floor ok?" They nod and I smile at them. On the way to my office where I hold my meeting that happen in this house which is rare, I begin thinking about the conversation I'm about to have with Axel. I knew it was going to happen, despite me trying my very hardest to make it not. I know it's bad that I didn't tell him that he had kids, but I couldn't contact him or anyone from my old life. I know it makes me an asshole and that I should have told him, or anyone in my family that there was going to be two extra additions, but I couldn't put them in danger like that. Contacting them would allow the people after me to know I was alive and my family was a weak spot. Once my twins were born and I became Death Flash, the gang was the first people I targeted and that's how I got my reputation. I took out one of the biggest gangs in Australia that had ties to basically every mafia. From there I got to be the best assassin the world, and CEO to Flash Industries, which is a shipping company, that mafia's mainly use to ship their drugs, weapons and other things but I also do legit things like invest in other company's and I own some legal company's and also a clothes brand. It's called 'Death' and has a lot of dark grunge type clothes but it actually profits me a lot.
I lose my train of thought when there's a knock on my door. I fix my self and yell out "COME IN!" The twins come in with Axel following them.
"Here he is mummy. Me and Ozzy are gonna go wash up for bed now. Goodnight!" I say a small goodbye back and wave at them. Once the door closes behind them I stop smiling and look at Axel who is looking as angry as ever. This will be fun.
