Nationals
Now we are in Chicago and tomorrow we will have nationals and it's driving me crazy. It's been three hours we are rehearsing in a meeting room.
The worst thing is we got the first slot and Mercedes is sick. So Mr. Schue put Tina and Quinn to perform with The Troubletones. I just want to win. Like we have to win.
"I wanna die." I groan and lean my head on Kurt's shoulder as we both are sitting down on a table.
"Streching out with me." Kurt says to me.
I move my seat and sit down in front of him. We both spread our legs and pull our hands to each other and doing our stretching.
"Dude, focus to the choreography!" Sam yelled at Puck.
"I know my choreography and I'm not moving like a crippled guy." Puck protest.
Sam suddenly beat him and they both start fighting and everyone is trying to stops them but they cant. I roll my eyes and trying to hold Sam but he really hard to hold and he pushes my hand away and suddenly hit my cheek and chin. I groan and Kurt takes my hand and bring me to the corner with him.
Mr. Schue, coach Beiste, and Ms. Pillsburry finally walks in and trying to stop them. Finn holds Puck's body and Mike holds Sam's body.
"Fight! Fight! Fight!" Sugar yelled.
"Hey, calm down!" Mr. Schue yelled at them. "Hey, hey, calm down! Calm down!"
"Fight, fight, fight!" Sugar yelled happily.
"Hey, cool out!" Mr. Schue stops them.
"He's studying for geography while we're trying to rehearse! It's bogus!" Sam protest.
"'Cause I already know the dance! You dance like you got your feet caught in bear traps. You're trying to gnaw them off." Puck yelled at Sam.
Sam was trying to beat Puck again but Mike really hold him tight and they really stop fighting.
"Mr. Schue, are you aware that while we're arguing about jazz squares, Unique is being handed the key to the city by Rahm Emanuel?" Kurt says to Mr. Schue.
"Really?" Mr. Schue frowns.
"And plus my pillow and my blanket fell into the pool. Disaster." Brittany says to us.
"Look, I think everybody is just a little tired.
We've been rehearsing for three straight hours." Artie says to us.
"Yeah, and we'll rehearse all night if we have to. We can rest after we've won!" Finn simply said.
"Just because we've lost Mercedes doesn't mean we can be anything less than perfect.
Perfect!" Rachel says to us.
"That's easy for you to say." Artie mock Rachel.
Everyone start arguing again. I'm just sitting down on a table with Kurt on the corner as he wrap my waist with his hand. I can still feel the pain when Sam smashed me.
"Okay, you know what? You know what?" Santana yelled at us. "Hey! I don't want to hear any of this, "We can't do it without her," because guess what? We don't have a choice. So be warned: if you are not giving this everything you've got, I will go all Lima Heights on your sorry asses." Santana says to us.
"Listen to yourselves." Mr. Schue simply said.
"I know. I'm sorry. I always go to the yelling place. I have rage." Santana sighs.
"No, it's a good thing. A great thing. There is so much passion in this room Even all your arguing, it's about the work. You guys really want this. Okay, so let's take a half-hour break, and then we'll run it from the top." Mr. Schue says to us.
"Mr. Schue, is it okay if we keep going? We got the first slot, which is, like, the death slot. We have to be amazing." Tina says to us.
"Yeah, "Edge of Glory's" a b***h. I said I'd be dancing by nationals. I'll be damned if I don't." Quinn says to Mr. Schue.
"Okay, then let's keep going. Mike, help the guys out with the choreography. Artie, help Puck with his geography. Ladies, Edge of Glory. Come on. Brittany, run us through it." Mr. Schue says to us.
I let out a sigh and lean my head on Kurt's shoulder. I'm really tired like literally and this is crazy.
"Hey, you okay? I'm sorry for smashing your face." Sam standing in front of me.
"Yeah I'm okay." I nodded.
"You cant just jump to guys's fight like that if you are not strong enough." Kurt says to me.
"Yeah Kurt is totally right." Sam says to me. "I'm sorry for that. If it hurts, tell me." Sam rubs my hand and walk away.
"He is like a careful boyfriend type." Kurt said quietly at me.
"Dont tell me that your crush feeling on him is back." I roll my eyes.
"I have Blaine and that's enough." Kurt simply said. "You already decided which one you will choose? Science or fashion?" Kurt asks me.
"I cant choose, I guess." I sigh. "Why there is no major called science fashion?"
"Dont be stupid, Kate." Kurt rolls his eyes.
"I'm actually no kidding." I frown at him.
"Okay but science fashion? I can say science fiction but science fashion? Kate Winslet." Kurt exhales.
"I'm not a topless oscar star." I shake my head.
"I guess mom named you Kate because she want you to be an actress not a fashion designer." Kurt says to me.
"And why does she named you Kurt? Because she loves Kurt Cobain?" I raise my eyebrows.
"Dad loves Kurt Cobain." Kurt simply said.
"And why you got mom's middle name and I dont?" I ask him.
"Because I born first. You were unplanned then you just suddenly came and born when I was two."
"I was planned. Dad wanted to have a boy and a girl. That's it." I protest.
"By the way, what did dad say to you to make you change to be a smarter and no more extravagant?" Kurt asks me.
"He told me about how mom sacrified only to let me survive. And he also said that if we do any mistakes, he cant stop blame himself because which mean that he failed to raise us. So myself start thinking that only you and dad left. If you both go away, I have nobody around me. I dont wanna make dad sad because of me so I decided to make him proud of me by being a better person. I'm still om progress and I need guidance." I said to Kurt.
Kurt smiles at me and holds my hand. "You know what? He loves you more than anyone else here. Even me. Sometimes I'm jealous with that but sometimes I'm not because I'm your big brother and I should show you any better things. And when you told us about your future plan, I cant be more proud of you. Change wont be as easy as flip your hand. But it's need time and proccess and you need guidance, I'll be happy to guide you to a brighter place."
"Thank God for bring you into my life." I smile back at him.
"Let's have rehearsal again." Kurt says to me and stand up from his seat.
"Give me another five minutes break." I said to him and lay my body on the table.
The others are busy having rehearsal. Some of them are doing choreography and some of them are busy with the song and I'm just tired and want to take a long nap.

"Girls, dinner time!"
"Baby Hummel, quit hogging the bathroom!" Santana yelled and knocks the bathroom door.
"Coming!" I shout and open the bathroom door and went out from the bathroom.
"I though you were stuck inside the toilet bowl." Santana simply said and walk enter the bathroom.
I roll my eyes and take my phone from a vanity table. I look at myself in the mirror and I already took a shower also changed my clothes wearing a denim overall, white tee and a white converse. I also let my hair in one messy ponitail.
After that I follow Tina and went out from our room then have dinner before we continue to have our rehearsal again.
"Is there any 7-eleven around here?" I ask Tina.
"Mike told me that there is one downstairs." Tina says to me.
"Alright." I simply nodded and keep walking with her.
Suddenly Mike, Artie, and Rory went out from their room. They smile at me and Tina. Tina walk closer to Mike and holding his hand as we keep walking in the hotel corridor.
"Hey..." Artie smiles at me.
"Hi Artie." I giggle.
"I heard from Kurt that you are planning for your future. Am I in your list?" Artie grins at me.
"Artie..." I chuckle.
"Just figure out. I'm not good in make pick up lines." Artie says to me.
"You're perfect." I smile at him. Artie just smile back at me and turn his wheelchair to the restaurant. "Well, I'm going to 7-eleven first." I said to him and turn my way outside the hotel.
I look around until I found 7-eleven sign. I get in and Sam is sitting down in a table along with Joe and Puck. I raise my eyebrows at them and walk to instant food corner and take instant ramen and buy that.
I'm not in the mood to eat any kind of hotel food. I just wanna eat junk food for once. That's it. After buy my food and my drink, I walk to their table and sit down next to Sam.
"What are you doing here?" Puck frowns at me.
"Want instant ramen noodles. That's it." I simply said. "And why are you guys here? I though you guys are having dinner with Mr. Schue in the hotel restaurant." I said to them while eating.
"Damn it! I dont need to spend my money to buy food here." Puck simply said and stand up from his seat and walk away.
Joe also stand up from his seat and take his coke. "You're not going, dude?" Joe asks Sam.
"I'll coming over." Sam simply said.
"You can go if you want." I said to him.
"I want that noodle." Sam grins at me.
"No way." I shake my head and hold my noodle cup.
"I want that." Sam whimpered.
I shake my head while eating that noodle. Sam takes the spoon from my noodle cup and take the noodle and eat that. I roll my eyes and keep eating that noodle until I realize that we both are eating the same noodle line.
I give him a sign to cut off that noodle and let me eat that but he shakes his head. Uh he is the most annoying human in this earth.
We push our face closer to each other while eating this noodle. Close. And closer and almost make our lips touching but no one of us want to cut off this noodle then Sam kissed me and make me suddenly bite that noodle and he win.
"It's empty." I said sadly while looking at my noodle cup and it's empty.
"Just buy another one. Easy." Sam rolls his eyes.
"I dont bring any more money. I left that in my ransel. You have?" I ask Sam.
"Nope." Sam shakes his head innocently. "I went out because I was bored."
"Wanna go out and walk around?" I raise my eyebrows at him.
"Sure. We can find some fresh air and hot Chicago chicks." Sam smirks at me and went off.
I roll my eyes and hold my mineral water bottle and went out from 7-eleven. Sam walk next to me and put his hand around my shoulder. I look around and Chicago is such a beautiful city.
"You think that the others might looking for us?" I ask Sam.
"I never think about that." Sam says innocently.
"Asked the wrong person." I roll my eyes.
"I was serious." Sam simply said and pull me closer to him.
"You didnt take evening shower?" I raise my eyebrows at him and push his body away slowly.
"Nope. Finn and Blaine used the bathroom for too long." Sam simply said.
"Dont put your hand around my shoulder." I said to him.
"That's not my fault. Be a little taller." Sam frowns at me.
"At least I'm taller than Tina." I simply said.
"How much?" Sam asks me.
"She is 5'4 and I'm 5'5. See?" I smirk at him.
"Haha alright, alright. Yes taller." Sam laughs and put his hand around my shoulder then kissed my head.
"Sam, everyone might think we are dating." I said to him.
"Screw them. I'm not afraid with them." Sam simply said. "Like what you usually said, they dont know about us."
"Yeah you're right." I giggle.
Sam just chuckle as we both keep walking on the street together with no directions and only want to find some fresh air before we have our big competition tomorrow.

I'm sitting down on my seat and looking at the vanity mirror and folded my hair into a bun with a braid on the behind. We are going to face nationals today and we got first slot which is like death slot. I'm nervous. I'm afraid if I'm gonna fall on the stage or anything else.
"All right, gather around, everyone!" Mr. Schue walks in. I stand up from my seat until Sam takes my hand and make me standing next to him. "I just want to say a few words before we go out there." Mr. Schue says to us.
"Hold on, Mr. Schue. Hold on. You've given us a lot of pep talks over the years, but remember, you told us once that, you know, a teacher's job is done when his students don't need him anymore?" Finn says to Mr. Schue.
"Okay. Finn, the floor is yours." Mr. Schue says to Finn.
"Last night we all sat around in a circle after you went to bed and we told stories. But then we went around the room, and everybody said what they wanted to win this thing for, and we all said the same thing: we want to win this for you." Finn says to Mr. Schue.
"Yeah." Sugar nodded as agree.
"And I know every year at school Figgins gives away the Teacher of the Year award. But I don't think any of us have to wait to see how we feel about that. You're, like, our Teacher of a Lifetime." Finn smiles at Mr. Schue.
"Yeah. Yeah, definitely."
"Thank you, Finn, all of you. I love you guys so much." Mr. Schue smiles at us.
"New Directions, line up." A voice over P.A
"All right, that's it. Show time. Hands in, everyone." Mr. Schue says to us as we start spread our hands and ready to have circle.
"Now I know you weren't planning on doing the show circle without me." Mercedes suddenly walks in and grins at us.
"Weezy?" Kurt chuckles.
"You're alive!" Tina chuckles.
"Yeah, thanks to Sue. She's a miracle worker." Mercedes chuckles.
"Oh, well, it's amazing what a little TLC, some cortisone and a witch doctor will do." Coach Sue simply said.
"Thank God you're okay because that just means I'm not gonna fall on my face during that Troubletones number." Quinn says to Mercedes.
"Oh, screw that. This is our last time performing together. You're doing it, and so you are you, Tina. I'm not taking no for an answer. Plus I have so many steroids going through my body right now, I may turn into the Incredible Hulk if you piss me off." Mercedes chuckles.
"Okay, if we don't get out of this room soon, none of us will be performing." Mr. Schue says to us.
We are spread our hands together and having show circle. "Aaaamaaaazingggg!!"
We then walk out from the dressing room and walk to the backstage and have our performance. I'm little bit nervous actually. And I cant hide it.
"You okay?" Kurt asks me and walk next to me.
I hold his hand and shake my head. "I dont know. I'm afraid." I said to Kurt.
"Kate, I should be the one who's afraid not you. This is my last performance and you still have your chance next year. I bet you will get your solo for nationals next year." Kurt says to me.
"I hope so." I exhale.
"Excuse me, can I borrow her for a while?" Sam interupts us.
"Sure." Kurt nodded and leave my hand then walk away.
"What else this time?" I raise my eyebrows at Sam.
"I cant tie a tie." Sam grins at me.
"Stupid." I roll my eyes and tie his tie. "It's done." I said to him and put his tie inside his vest.
Sam holds my hand as we both continue walk to the backstage and everyone is get ready and having streching out for the biggest number ever.

We ended our performance with the full of standing ovation from the audience. I turn my face at Kurt and smiling at him. He is smiling back at me. I guess I get my confidence back.

Now we are on the stage and waiting for the winner announcement. I just can hold Kurt's and Blaine's hand. This is freaking me out. Vocal Adrenaline was really awesome with performing Starship and Pinball Wizard. I just wish for the best.
"And now it's time to announce the winner of this year's individual show choir MVP award......From Vocal Arednaline, Carmel High's Wade "Unique" Adams!"
I'm smiling and applauding for Wade as the winner for MVP. Kurt told me many things about him and he is kinda underappreciated.
"And now a round of applause to your top three finalists for this year's National Show Choir Championship. In third place all the way from............Oregon the Portland Scale Blazers!"
I let out a sigh and applauding for them. Now our choice is first and the second place. If we lose I dont know what will happen with glee club.
"And now, ladies and gentlemen, quiet, please. Congratulations to both teams standing with us onstage. But not it's time to announce a winner."
I'm just holding Kurt's and Blaine's hand and let my head down also close my eyes. "The 2012 National Show Choir Champions from.............McKinley High in Lima, Ohio, The New Directions!!!!"
We are cheering and jumping also whooping happily. I hug Kurt really tight. I cant believe this is happening like really. I turn around at Sam and we both hugging each other. This is really happening. Nationals champs!
