Seven Minutes In Heaven
"Come on, Jon, it'll be fun!" My friend, Kaylee, all but begs while we walk to our last class. I roll my eyes, sighing heavily as I open the door for my overly girly friend to hop into the room only to hand out a bunch of invitations, to her eighteenth birthday party, to our friends and a few other cool people. I take my seat only to have her come back over to me to sit next to me, beaming like a crazy woman.
"So? Are you coming?" She probes and I sigh heavily.
"Yeah, yeah." I grumble, not looking forward to her ''party''. I know there will be beer, drugs, and worst of all, the creepy games that include strip poker among other things. I shudder at the thought of her fourteenth birthday when the whole party played a dirty version of Chutes and Ladders, I will never look at the innocent child's game the same ever again. But I do know I should go considering she's my best friend and I want to make sure nothing happens to her despite the fact that she annoys me more than half the time.
"Yay!" She squeals in delight, jumping out of her seat to awkwardly hug my neck tightly.
"Kaylee Anderson! Sit down right now!" The teacher, Mr. Green, tells her sharply and she nods before obeying his order. Despite being yelled at numerous times she still talks through the class right up until it's out. The bell rings, indicating the end of school, and immediately half the class leaves like the room is on fire. I roll my eyes at the students, watching them all sprint from school, as I walk to with Kaylee to her small car.
"So who all did you invite? Is it going to be a big party?" I ask, hoping it will be small but knowing her she invited the whole school just so she can have a big party people will talk about.
"Hm, I invited our group and Jen, and Jake, uh, Chris. Yeah, the whole school, actually. Put on some music, this silence is deafening." She replies, obviously wanting to distract me so I don't try to back out of the party but I know she really wants me there so I'll go. I do as she says, though, hooking my iPod up to the speakers and playing Breathe Carolina's album, Savages.
"So, is there going to be drinking and drugs at this thing?" I question casually, hoping she says no but again knowing the question is redundant.
"Of course, what kind of party would it be without drinking? And I don't supply the drugs, you know that other people just end up doing drugs at my parties which is in no way my fault." She explains confidently and I roll my eyes.
"Mhm, when does it start?" I probe, watching the houses fly by outside the window.
"A little less than an hour, just enough time for us to set up," she replies, turning the car into her driveway.
"Us?" I echo, groaning when I realize she wants me to help her set up as per usual.
"Yes us, who else is going to help me? Come on, we just need to put the breakable stuff in my parents' room, set up the alcohol table, and set up the games." She leaves the car with that, walking to her front door and disappearing inside. I sigh, leave the car, and help her get the breakable stuff first. We lock all the valuable stuff in her parents' bedroom, make sure the lock is secure then post a sign on the door to stay out.
As she promised, it wasn't all that hard to set up, which is good because the people started flowing in right after we finished. As she said, the whole school was here except a few people who either don't like Kaylee or just don't party.
And so the party begins.
Music blasts from her huge speakers, vibrating the floor all the way up the stairs. People dance and grind; make out and dry hump on the couches, I think one couple is already having s*x. I merge into the dance floor, trying to make my way to the kitchen to get a drink considering it's a party and Kaylee will end up lecturing me later on how I need to act like a teenager.
I finally make my way into the kitchen where we set up all the alcohol and even have our friend, Tyler, playing the bartender because he's good with making drinks. Though most people are just getting a beer or taking shots.
"Hey, Jon, here," Tyler shouts over the music, handing me a Dixie cup full of some kind of drink. I look at it skeptically, taking a sip and nearly choking at how much it burns.
"Jeez, what even is that?" I rasp, grabbing a bottle of water to calm my burning throat.
"Just a random mix, here, this is just Rum and coke." He hands me another cup and when I take a gulp it doesn't burn like the other so I nod my thanks before wandering around aimlessly.
"Jon!" I blink, turning to find the voice that called my name, finding Kaylee behind me.
"Yeah?" I ask, noting that my drink is nearly gone and my words are a bit slurred despite only feeling buzzed.
"Come one, we're playing seven minutes in heaven down in the basement," she explains, shouting to be heard over the music before taking my hand and dragging me into her basement where a few more than twenty people are lazing around. I take a seat on a couch between some guy and a girl I've seen around school multiple times.
"Okay, so I'll draw two names out of this makeshift hat, those two people will go into the closet, stay in for seven minutes, and you must at least kiss. Here we go, drum-roll please." Kaylee looks up expectantly, waiting for people to do a drum roll so they do and she pulls the names.
"Greg and Melissa." The two look at each other before walking into the closet while Kaylee sets her phone timer on seven minutes.
"Now start." She orders, touching her screen to start the timer. While those two stay in the closet the other people either cheer them on or talk amongst themselves. I opt to stay quiet and observe the conversations, most of them are gossipers talking about something with a teacher or partiers talking about the party, both are boring.
"And done!" Kaylee knocks on the door and the two stumble out, Melissa's dress being terribly ruffled while Greg's fly is undone. They both scurry away, out of the basement to probably find a place to continue where they left off.
"Next, ooh, Jon and..." Kaylee grabs one more piece of paper containing a name and I can tell already she's trying not to smirk. "Isaac." She explains with a creepy grin while everyone else is either laughing or trying to say it's not fair and to draw again.
It's no surprise that some people are against this whole arrangement considering everyone, for some reason, loves Isaac. It might be that he's a football player or the fact that he's taken the school to their first championship, but either way, everyone would die to be in Kaylee's small closet with him.
"No! That's not fair, you need to draw again!" Some chick, that I believe is name Chelsea, whines at Kaylee who just waves her off and stares pointedly at me, urging me to go into the closet where Isaac is already waiting. I roll my eyes, walking begrudgingly into the small closet that holds mostly board games and some unused golf clubs.
"Time starts now! Get busy!" Kaylee orders from the other side of the closed door. I drag my eyes away from the door, that has chipped paint, to look at Isaac, only to find him already looking at me.
"Ah, you know we could just-" I start but my words are cut off when he kisses me. I stand there in surprise, having no clue what I'm supposed to do. I mean, I know I should kiss him back but who the hell just kisses someone without warning? And it's so rude to interrupt someone when they're talking.
"Jon," I snap out of my thoughts, realizing Isaac pulled away and is now arching a brow at me. I huff and lean against the wall behind me, staring into his oddly purple eyes.
"It's rude to interrupt people," I state, glaring at him now. His brows furrow and then he chuckles as if he finds my annoyance funny.
"Really? Okay, fine. Jonathan, can I kiss you, please?" He asks politely and I beam.
"Yes," I reply but don't give him the chance to act because I smash my lips to his. I consume him in a deep kiss, pushing him against the wall and running my hands up his shirt. I quickly pull his shirt up, whining because I have to break the kiss so I can pull his shirt over his head which makes him chuckle. He pulls away from my lips for a moment to discard his shirt before his lips lock with mine once more in a heated make out.
My hands travel up his chest before ducking into his jeans, rubbing him through his boxers and making him moan into my mouth. I smirk against his lips, slipping my hand into his boxers and brushing my thumb over his tip numerous times while he makes beautiful sounds of lust.
Finally, he breaks our kiss and moves away from me slightly. His breathing is rigged and his lower problem is prominent as he tries to catch his breath.
"What?" I half-snap while trying to catch my own breath, annoyed that he stopped.
"We're not doing that in a closet while other people are on the other side of that door. Not to mention our seven minutes in heaven are up."
