Love

Love Her beautiful blonde hair falls down her back in straight waves, making me incredibly jealous, I could never get my hair to look like that. But her hair isn't the only beautiful part of her. Her name matches her beauty, Calypso. She has dark brown eyes that have strange swirls of dark green throughout them. She's perfectly tanned despite the nearly constant rainfall in London. She's always dressed in beautiful dresses that fit her figure perfectly. She always wears sandals and is never seen out of the house without her blonde hair perfectly straight. Currently, she's wearing a white dress with a black jumper and white ballet flats. "Effy?" I blink and smile at her when she stops. "Yeah?" I ask, tilting my head to the side in question. "Did you want to come over to my house after school?" She asks and I shrug in an attempt to pretend I wasn't just having those thoughts about my best friend. "Sure, I'll meet you at your locker," I reply, smiling slightly and waving at her before walking to my class. The day drags on until the final bell rings and I bound out of the class, headed straight to Callie's locker. I weave through the many students who seem to crash into me every five seconds and finally, I arrive at her locker. She's putting her books away and doesn't seem to notice me so I clear my throat, causing her to jump and turn around. "Hey, I was just about to call you. Come on." She slams her locker shut before grabbing my wrist to drag me out to her white Toyota. "So, what exactly are we supposed to do at your house?" I question as I slide into the passenger's seat while she gets in the driver's seat and starts the car. "I don't worry, I'll think of something." She adds with a casual shrug. I sigh lightly and look out the window at the trees that are flying by as we speed down the road in silence. It doesn't take long to get to her large two-story house because she only lives ten minutes from our high school. We silently walk into her empty house, her parents being out at work, and into her bedroom. "So what was your plan?" I ask in amusement as I flop on her canopy bed. She doesn't reply and I turn my head to watch as she fidgets with the hem of her jumper. "Uhm, we get to watch a movie." She states though her voice wavers slightly. I shrug though, assuming she's just tired or something. "Sounds good, what movie?" She doesn't answer me but instead pulls a DVD from her dresser and puts the disk into her DVD player. She comes to lay next to me, holding up the remote to skip the adds. The movie is some romantic chick-flick, but I don't mind too much even if it is corny because I'm just glad to be spending time with her. When the movie finally does end it's still pretty early in the day so we decide to go to the park. The walk is oddly silent though, and it's starting to worry me that Callie isn't speaking. Usually, she's really outgoing so this is actually very abnormal. When we finally do get to the park a few blocks from her house I huff in annoyance which catches her attention and makes her turn to look at me with a questioning expression. "What's wrong?" She questions with her soft voice, her voice that calms me down so much. "Nothing, sorry. Uhm, I think I should get home." I lie, not meeting her obviously hurt ones. It's not that I don't want to stay here with her but she's freaking me out and I'm hoping it's just exhaustion or something that will get better after she has a good night's rest. "Oh, uh, okay. Yeah, we can walk back to my house and I'll drive you." She offers after clearing her throat. She turns on her heel quickly but not before I see her beautiful eyes well with tears that pull at my heartstrings. I almost stop her, tell her I was just joking, but I don't have it in me so instead I follow her in silence. We get to her house and immediately she gets into the car without even going into her house. I follow her, as always, and get into the small car while she starts it then pulls out of her driveway. Unfortunately, I live a good twenty minutes from her, which is usually a good thing so I can spend more time with her but this time it's not. This time I just want to get home, away from her before I blurt out my feelings for her. Yeah, I can tell that would end with me in bed devouring a tub of my favorite chocolate ice cream while watching Nicholas Sparks movies. She pulls up in my empty driveway in front of my small house, also empty since my parents are both at work as well as hers. I reach for the door handle but her soft voice stops me. "Are you okay?" I turn to her, biting my lip as I take in her slightly flushed face, her beautiful eyes slightly bloodshot from the tears that so obviously wanted to come out. I nod slowly, almost more to myself. "Yeah, I'm okay." I smile a bit but not much because her eyes flash in pain, probably seeing straight through my lie. Her lip quivers slightly while she desperately tries to hold int the tears and yet she nods as if everything is perfectly fine. I turn to leave, fully intent on leaving her so I can go kick myself about doing this to her, but I stop. "Screw it," I mutter before turning to slam my lips onto hers in a desperate kiss.
